It is well known that lymph nodes are very important immune organs in the human body. Such organs exist in various parts of the human body and their importance is self-evident. Precisely because of the importance of lymph nodes, they must be cared for with greater care. Swollen lymph nodes are a sign of certain diseases, especially if they occur repeatedly. Be careful as to whether it is an infection or a tumor. In short, if your lymph nodes swell again and again, it is best to go to the hospital for a check-up. Ultrasound image of inflammatory lymphadenopathy Lymph nodes are enlarged, regular in shape, and the ratio of long diameter to segmental diameter is greater than 2. The borders are clear, and the boundary between the cortex and medulla is clear. CDFI shows: punctate blood flow signals can be seen at the lymph node hilum. Ultrasound image of tumorous lymphadenopathy They all appear to be round and bulging, with an enlarged short diameter, and the long diameter/segment diameter of most people is less than 2. The shape is irregular, the boundaries are unclear, and the cortical recovery is significantly reduced. The lymph nodes of metastatic lymphoma have uneven and cloudy echo enhancement, and sometimes liquefaction necrosis and calcification can be seen in the center. CDFI showed that the blood flow in the lymph nodes was unevenly distributed, showing an irregular tree-like or disordered pattern. Ultrasound image of tuberculous lymphadenopathy Multiple round and oval nodules can be seen. The nodules are arranged in a honeycomb, mass or beaded pattern. The nodules are hypoechoic and uneven, and the structures of the cortex and medulla are unclear. The boundary is not clear, and the internal echo is mainly mixed low echo, with dark areas or weak echo plaques visible inside. CDFI shows that the blood vessels of the enlarged lymph nodes are disordered and the blood flow is greater than normal. Causes of swollen lymph nodes 1. Infection Acute and chronic inflammation caused by pathogenic microorganisms, such as bacteria, viruses, rickettsia, etc., such as acute cellulitis, purulent tonsillitis, gingivitis, infectious mononucleosis, scrub typhus, tuberculosis, etc. 2. Tumor Lymphoma; All types of acute and chronic leukemia; Plasma cell neoplasms: multiple myeloma, primary macroglobulinemia; Tumor metastasis: lung cancer, gastric cancer, liver cancer, breast cancer, nasopharyngeal cancer, etc. 3. Reactive hyperplasia Necrotizing hyperplastic lymphadenopathy; Serum sickness and serum sickness-like reactions; Allergic subsepsis; Systemic lupus erythematosus, rheumatism, etc. 4. Abnormal cell proliferation and metabolism Langerhans histiocytosis (histiocytosis X); Lipid storage disease; Sarcoidosis. |
