What to do if the labia majora is itchy

Diseases are some situations that people often encounter in their daily life and work. Diseases are divided into many categories. The most troublesome ones are diseases of private parts. Many female friends should have experienced itching on both sides of the labia. But most people don’t know what causes this condition or how to treat it. So, what should I do if my labia majora itch?

First, what should I do if the sides of my labia are itchy? Pseudo-condyloma acuminatum is a newly recognized disease in recent years. Pseudo-condylomata is more common in young women, and can occur in both unmarried and married women; the age of onset is mainly between 18 and 40 years old, and the incidence rate is 16% to 18%. The clinical manifestations are 1-2 mm papules, light red, clustered and not fused; smooth, roe-like or villous in shape, and granular to the touch; distributed on the inner side of the labia minora or the vestibule of the vagina. Generally there are no subjective symptoms or only mild itching, which can be easily confused with genital warts clinically. Genital warts mostly occur on the vulva, vagina, urethral orifice, cervix and perianal area. Initially they are small moist papules of light red or dirty gray color, which quickly form wart-like proliferations of varying sizes that may fuse and be shaped like cauliflower or cockscomb, sometimes with secretions and a foul odor.

Second, for clinical identification, you can use gauze or cotton swab dipped in 5% acetic acid solution and apply it tightly to the affected area, and observe after 2 to 5 minutes: if it is genital warts, the local area will turn white, which is a positive reaction; pseudo-warts are a negative reaction, that is, no color change. If there is local inflammation, it may be a false positive reaction and a pathological examination may be performed if necessary. The cause of condyloma acuminatum is still unknown, but it is generally believed to be a benign papilloma associated with developmental abnormalities. Whether the occurrence of this disease is related to hormone levels in the body needs further study. Pseudo-condylomata has no impact on health, and the rash develops self-limited, so generally no treatment is required. If necessary, laser treatment can be performed in batches.

What should I do if the labia minora itch? Vulvar itching is a symptom that can be caused by various reasons. Local causes include special infections (such as candidal vaginitis, trichomonas vaginitis, pubic lice, scabies, pinworm disease), chronic vulvar malnutrition, drug allergies or chemical stimulation, bad hygiene habits, skin diseases, etc. Patients with chronic diseases such as diabetes, jaundice, leukemia, vitamin A deficiency, vitamin B deficiency, etc. often have vulvar itching. Some patients have no obvious local or systemic causes, which may be related to mental or psychological factors. Vulvar itching is a symptom caused by many reasons. Elderly women have decreased estrogen levels, thinning of the vulvar epidermis, atrophy of the vaginal epithelium, too little vaginal secretions, dry or unclean vulva, and mechanical or alkaline stimulation, which causes vulvar itching. In addition, due to diseases of the ovaries, uterus, vagina, etc., itching is often caused by increased leucorrhea irritating the vulvar skin.
