How to deal with swelling in eczema areas

Eczema is quite common in our daily life. When eczema is more serious, it often causes local swelling of the affected skin. At this time, it is necessary to receive timely and good treatment. According to traditional Chinese medicine, eczema can be divided into many types, and different types have different treatment methods. You can go to the hospital for examination in time, and then receive good symptomatic treatment. Let us learn about this aspect.

TCM differentiation of symptoms and treatment of Yin-injury type eczema:

Yin-injury type eczema is caused by long-term water seepage, which damages yin and blood, and causes wind due to dry blood. Therefore, when treating eczema, Chinese medicine generally uses some medicines that have the effects of nourishing yin and blood, removing dampness and relieving itching. For example, Chinese medicines such as raw rehmannia, Yuanshen, Angelica, Salvia miltiorrhiza, Poria, Alisma, Dictamni, and Cnidium monnieri can all treat eczema, and can be added or subtracted according to the symptoms. If the local cracks are more severe, Polygonatum odoratum can be added.

TCM syndrome differentiation and treatment of damp-heat type eczema:

Damp-heat type eczema is caused by blood heat and spleen dampness, which infiltrate the skin. Therefore, when treating eczema, Chinese medicine generally uses some medicines with the effects of promoting dampness and clearing heat, such as raw rehmannia, moutan bark, red peony root, gentian, astragalus, black gardenia, tuckahoe peel, oriental water plantain, akebia, plantain seed, Liuyisan seed, etc., which can all treat eczema, and can be added or subtracted according to symptoms. If there are pustules, add dandelion, honeysuckle, and forsythia.

TCM syndrome differentiation and treatment of blood-heat type eczema:

Is TCM's syndrome differentiation treatment effective for eczema? Blood-heat type eczema is caused by internal damp-heat and external wind, with heat being heavier than dampness. Therefore, when treating eczema, TCM generally uses some medicines that have the effects of cooling blood and clearing heat, and removing wind and dampness. For example, Chinese medicines such as Rehmannia glutinosa, Cortex Moutan, Red Peony Root, Herba Siegesbeckiae, Cortex Pittosporum, Sophora flavescens, Cortex Dictamni, Fructus Kochiae, and Liuyi Powder can all treat eczema.

TCM differentiation and treatment of spleen dampness type eczema:

Spleen dampness type eczema is caused by the spleen failing to function properly and dampness generated from the inside. Therefore, when treating eczema, Chinese medicine generally uses some medicines that have the effect of strengthening the spleen and removing dampness, such as Atractylodes lancea, Tangerine peel, Magnolia officinalis, Polyporus, Poria, Alisma orientalis, Liuyi powder, Dictamni bark, Kochia scoparia, etc., which can all treat eczema, and can be added or subtracted according to symptoms. Those with poor appetite can also add Patchouli and Cymbidium.
