After the onset of chronic enteritis, some patients will be affected by the external environment or the internal structure of the body and may encounter some problems. Therefore, after suffering from chronic enteritis, you should pay attention to active treatment and response, choose standardized methods and means, and avoid worsening of the disease. 1. Etiology and Pathogenesis: Under the same external environmental conditions and the influence of the same pathogenic factors, some people become ill while others do not. The reason is: "Jing Yue Quan Shu" says: "The root of diarrhea is all due to the spleen and stomach." The spleen is responsible for transportation and transformation and is the "source of Qi and blood production" and the "foundation of acquired constitution". Due to congenital damage to the spleen and stomach or due to improper diet, fatigue, or long-term damage, the spleen fails to function properly, and Qi and blood are insufficient to nourish the whole body, phlegm and fluid are generated internally, or dampness turns into heat or cold over time; it stays in the intestines, causing dysfunction of the large intestine, and Qi and blood mix with waste in the intestines, damaging the intestinal network. If diarrhea does not heal for a long time, it will affect the kidneys and cause spleen and kidney yang deficiency. In addition, emotional injury can cause the liver to lose its ability to release energy, causing liver qi to go against the grain and attack the spleen and earth, leading to liver and spleen disharmony, liver depression and spleen deficiency, which can cause damage to the spleen and stomach. In short, this disease is a mixture of deficiency and excess, with deficiency being the root and excess being the superficial. The root cause is weak spleen and stomach; the symptoms are accumulation of dampness and heat, obstruction of phlegm and dampness, stagnation of qi and blood stasis. On the other hand, insufficient vital energy can easily lead to damage by external factors, diet, and emotions, which can make the disease difficult to heal and recur repeatedly. 2. Disease diagnosis and syndrome differentiation and treatment Any disease is a process of change and development, and each stage has a key link. It is necessary to combine syndrome differentiation with disease differentiation according to the characteristics of the symptoms, "treat the symptoms in an emergency and treat the root cause in a non-urgent situation", and give equal importance to strengthening the body and eliminating evil. 1. Acute attack period. Symptoms: diarrhea, abdominal pain, abdominal distension, more than 10 bowel movements a day with mucus, pus and blood in the stool, tenesmus, fatigue, poor appetite and weight loss, red tongue, thick and greasy yellow tongue coating, and rapid pulse. Routine stool examination: There are a large number of red and white blood cells (such as 20-30 red blood cells and white blood cells filling the entire field of vision). Most of the pathogens at this stage are damp-heat, which blocks the intestines and stagnates with qi and blood, causing blood failure and flesh rot. The treatment is to clear away heat and dampness, cool blood and stop bleeding. 2. Chronic stage. This stage is relative to the acute attack stage. There may still be mucus, pus and blood in the stool, but routine stool examination + occult blood show: 0-8 red blood cells, 1-5 white blood cells, which are significantly reduced compared with the previous stage. The main focus is on strengthening the body's resistance. According to different syndrome types, the treatment is as follows: 2.1 Spleen deficiency and dampness-heat type: Symptoms: diarrhea, thick and greasy yellow tongue coating, and rapid and stringy pulse. The treatment is to clear away heat and dampness, invigorate Qi and strengthen the spleen. 2.2 Weak Spleen Type: Symptoms: abdominal pain, loose stools, several bowel movements a day accompanied by mucus or indigestion, symptoms worsen after eating raw, cold, or greasy food, sallow complexion, pale red tongue, thin white fur, and a weak pulse. The treatment is to invigorate Qi, strengthen the spleen and eliminate dampness. |
