White scars after burns

No one wants to have scars on their skin, but too many unexpected things happen in life. Burns are a particularly thorny problem. When the skin is healed, the burned area will be different from the skin color of other areas, and generally white scars will be left. So how can we remove the white scars after burns?

1. Whitening and pigmentation ointment

Usually, superficial burns below the second degree are mainly characterized by inflammatory reactions. Temporary wounds will have a redness reaction after inflammation, the epidermis will look red, and some will produce melanin deposition. If melanin deposits are left behind, they can be improved by using whitening and pigment-reducing ointments.

2. Fat and hyaluronic acid fillers

Permanent scars are caused by deeper second-degree burns. Even if the wound heals, it may leave a depressed scar, and fillers (such as fat fillers, hyaluronic acid, etc.) must be used.

3. Wear elastic clothing or body shaping clothing

If the wound is more protruding or smaller in area, physical pressure (such as silicone sheets, silicone tape, silicone ointment, etc.) can be used to treat it. If the wound is larger in area, elastic clothing or body shaping clothing must be worn. Sometimes, different forms are required depending on the location of the injury, such as local sleeves, full-body body shaping clothing, or head covers.

4. Physical pressure

After the body is injured, the tissues will proliferate and produce hypertrophic scars. If these scars appear in certain specific areas, keloids may also occur, which usually occur in deeper burns. Physical compression therapy generally requires at least 6 months, and the cost usually ranges from several thousand to tens of thousands of yuan.

5. Dye laser

In cases of vasodilation with temporary redness, or when the blood vessels of hypertrophic scars are more numerous, "dye laser" can be used. Some depressed scars can also be treated with this treatment if the surface skin looks red. Due to the high cost of dye lasers, not every medical institution has such equipment. The charging standard is based on the "number of shots" (each shot costs around a hundred yuan), usually depending on the size of the treatment, ranging from several thousand to tens of thousands of yuan. After receiving laser treatment, you should be careful to avoid excessive sun exposure. You can apply local ice, ointment or lotion as appropriate. At the same time, do not rub the area where the laser was applied.
