The taste of wild Ganoderma lucidum is bitter, and very bitter. The more bitter it is, the more potent its medicinal properties are. As the old saying goes, "Good medicine tastes bitter, and bitter medicine tastes good." Wild Ganoderma lucidum is colorless and odorless. The wild Ganoderma lucidum purchased from pharmacies often has a smell, which is usually caused by the off-flavor after being mixed with Chinese herbal medicines. There are many types of wild Ganoderma lucidum, and their shapes are relatively irregular. Each type of wild Ganoderma lucidum has its own characteristics. However, the wild Ganoderma lucidum collected from the top of the mountain varies in size, and it is not like those collected artificially, where a large number of wild Ganoderma lucidum are basically the same size. Wild Ganoderma grows in the wild and will undoubtedly be attacked by pests and diseases. Therefore, there are irregular insect bites under the fruiting body. This is inevitable. If there are no insect bites, it can only mean that the wild Ganoderma is artificially cultivated. Expand Materials Wild Ganoderma lucidum grows on the roots or dead trunks of oak and other broad-leaved forests. Because of the massive logging of forests, the destruction of plant communities, soil erosion, and the depletion of wild Ganoderma resources, it is impossible to consider the medicinal value and requirements for use. In the 1950s, my country carried out research on artificial cultivation of wild Ganoderma lucidum and achieved success. Wild Ganoderma lucidum reproduces based on basidiospores. Ganoderma lucidum spores have four sexes: a1, a2, b1, and b2. Only spores of two different sexes, a and b (a1 and b2, a2 and b2), can breed to produce fruiting bodies. This is a reflection of the law of survival of the fittest in nature, and also ensures the reproduction of high-quality Ganoderma lucidum strains. Most of the artificial cultivation of wild Ganoderma lucidum adopts asexual reproduction, that is, the mycelium is disintegrated to cultivate seedlings, and then the mycelium is cut and a large number of seedlings are cultivated again. The mating process is not required during the process. Asexual reproduction from generation to generation, just like inbreeding among humans, will inevitably lead to the decline of the bacterial strain. |
