How to find the exact location of Zusanli

The location of Zusanli is relatively easy to find. For example, you can feel a protrusion under the kneecap, and then there is a protruding bone diagonally downward. At the connection between the two protruding bones, there is an equilateral triangle, and the vertex of this equilateral triangle is the Zusanli acupuncture point. Regularly massaging Zusanli has a good effect of stopping diarrhea and replenishing qi, relieving pain, and preventing gastrointestinal diseases.

How to find the exact location of Zusanli

Touch the outside of the calf from bottom to top, and you can feel the bump (lateral tibial condyle) below the kneecap of the left knee. From here, further out and a little bit downward, there is another protrusion (the head of the fibula). The two convex bones are connected by a line, and an equilateral triangle is drawn downward with this line as the base. The vertex of this equilateral triangle is the Zusanli acupoint.

What are the benefits of Zusanli massage

1. Tonify the middle and replenish qi

An old Chinese doctor told us that massaging or acupuncture at the Zusanli point has a good effect of replenishing the middle and benefiting the Qi, and is very suitable for patients with insufficient Qi in the middle. It is recorded in my country's famous acupuncture books that acupuncture on the Zusanli point can strengthen the body and also has a health-care effect.

2. Antidiarrheal effect

When it comes to the effects of the Zusanli point, the most obvious one is to stop diarrhea. If the diarrhea is caused by weak spleen and stomach or cold, stimulating the Zusanli point can effectively restore the body to health. In addition, if the diarrhea is caused by indigestion, you can massage the Zusanli point. However, if the diarrhea is caused by dysentery or damp heat, directly massaging the Zusanli point will not have a significant effect. At this time, it must be treated in combination with other acupoints.

3. Analgesic effect

If you have abdominal pain, whether it is caused by qi stagnation, qi deficiency, blood deficiency, food accumulation, stomach deficiency or spleen deficiency, massaging the Zusanli point can relieve the pain well, or acupuncture on this point can quickly relieve the pain in about three or four minutes. However, it should be noted that if the abdominal pain is caused by heat, it is best not to massage the Zusanli point, otherwise other problems are likely to arise. At this time, you can massage the Qingre point.

4. Calming effect

Massaging the Zusanli point has a very good calming effect, and is very effective in treating insomnia and irritability. In addition, if the cause of insomnia is due to deficiency of both the heart and spleen, acupuncture at the Zusanli point is the best choice.
