How to plant Atractylodes lancea

The price of Atractylodes lancea has been optimistic recently, and all friends who grow red peony roots are very happy. Due to the limited resources of natural red peony root, relatively less artificial cultivation, increasing market demand, and the average net economic benefit per mu exceeding 5,000 yuan, some friends have been stimulated to engage in the cultivation of red peony root. 1. Selection of planting site. Red peony root has strong adaptability and is not very particular about soil requirements. It prefers rich and loose sandy soil. It is generally not suitable to be selected in low-lying areas that are easily damaged by water. Because the roots of red peony root are easily infected by pathogens after being exposed to water, which leads to rot and unsuccessful planting. Red peony root can tolerate poverty but not waterlogging. It can be selected in small hillsides, mountains, and other places with good drainage and semi-shade and semi-sun.

2. Select seedlings. Red peony root can be propagated by seeds and rhizomes. When purchasing seeds, you must pay attention to purchasing current seeds, because the storage period of red peony root seeds at room temperature is short, about half a year. Do not purchase seeds from the previous year. For propagation by underground stems, it should be planted while digging in mid-to-late February or early to mid-March when the seed buds begin to sprout. When digging seedlings, be careful not to scratch or damage the buds. For seedlings purchased in the market, the moldy ones should be picked out, and then treated with drugs before planting.

3. Medical treatment. The seedlings purchased in the market will inevitably have many wounds due to bumps and collisions during the transportation process. In order to reduce rot and prevent the occurrence of early soil diseases and pests, the seedlings need to be sterilized and treated with pesticides before planting. Generally, about 400 kilograms of seedlings are used per mu. As a treatment drug, there is a coating agent for seed mixing, use thiamethoxam and difenoconazole suspension, add a few packets of ten ml of tyrosine lactone, mix with about 400 kilograms of seeds, add 10 kilograms of water to the drug, spray evenly with a sprayer, and then plant after drying.

4. Till the soil and apply base fertilizer. Red peony root is a biennial Chinese herbal medicine. In order to obtain a higher yield, 5000 kg of organic fertilizer and 100 kg of phosphate fertilizer are used for one mu at a time. When applying effective fertilizer, high-nitrogen and high-potassium compound fertilizers should be used.

5. The general regulations for red peony root are that the row spacing is 20 cm and the plant spacing is 15 cm. In hot weather, be sure to block the sun.

6. Pest control. The main diseases and pests of red peony root include iron leaf disease, white rot, and bacterial wilt. Pests and diseases generally include budworms or mites.
