Anal pain after defecation is mainly because the feces are too hard and scratch the tissues around the anus. The main cause is hemorrhoids. When this happens, it must be cleaned in time. If there is a certain inflammation, it can be cleaned with potassium permanganate solution. If the pain is more severe, you can use cold compresses or use some hemorrhoid creams for treatment. What to do if your anus is burning after pooping 1. Warm water sitz bath Buy a bidet, fill it with warm water to cover the perianal area, and soak for 15 minutes. Keep taking warm water sitz baths two to three times a day, each time for 10 to 15 minutes. 2. Cold compress Applying ice packs to relieve swelling in the anus can make bowel movements less painful and relieve itching. Do it every day to shrink the blood vessels around the anus and relieve hemorrhoid symptoms. 3. Keep the area around the anus clean Gently cleanse the area around your anus with warm water every day in the bath (preferably) or shower. Just wash with warm water; using soap may make hemorrhoids worse. After bathing, gently dry your anus with a blow dryer. 4. Use wet toilet paper Dryness can worsen hemorrhoid symptoms and in severe cases lead to bleeding. Avoid using regular dry toilet paper as it can abrade the anus and worsen the swelling of the blood vessels. To keep your anus clean after a bowel movement, use wet wipes or alcohol-free moist toilet paper. 5. Drink 8 glasses of water every day. Drinking water can help with bowel movements and aid digestion, and it won’t be as painful when you have a bowel movement. 6. Eat more high-fiber foods People with hemorrhoids should eat more high-fiber foods (such as broccoli, beans, wheat and oat bran, whole-grain products, and fresh fruits) and less dairy products such as cheese. The intake of high-fiber foods can help soften stools, and fiber supplementation helps reduce hemorrhoidal bleeding, inflammation, and enlargement. However, dairy products can make defecation more difficult. Some women experience bloating or gas when they consume high-fiber foods. Don't eat too much high-fiber food at the beginning. You can start slowly and gradually increase your fiber intake by 25-30 grams per day. At the same time, you should also add more water. Fiber obtained from food and sufficient fluid can effectively help soften stools and relieve difficulty in defecation. |
