Don’t take Chinese medicine too late

Taking Chinese medicine is a big subject, because in traditional Chinese medicine. Traditional Chinese medicine has always been a health-preserving method that everyone is keen on. Chinese medicinal materials are bitter but effective medicines, and are often used to treat various diseases. If you can master the time to take Chinese medicinal materials, you can better exert the medicinal power of Chinese medicinal materials. So when is the best time to take Chinese herbal medicine at night?

Morning: It is advisable to take tonic medicines, especially yang tonic medicines, on an empty stomach in the morning. They should be taken before breakfast to facilitate the adequate digestion and absorption of tonic medicines. Medicines for treating limb blood vessel diseases should also be taken on an empty stomach, which can make the medicine enter the stomach quickly and maintain a high concentration to quickly exert the medicinal effect. Diuretics and emetics should also be taken on an empty stomach in the morning.

Before noon: In the morning, it is advisable to take blood-nourishing and yang-generating medicines, and sweating, deficiency-tonifying and evil-expelling medicines. Before noon is the yang, so you should sweat; in the afternoon, it is the yin, so you should not sweat. Blood-nourishing and yang-generating medicines should be taken before noon. Luo Tianyi further pointed out that blood-nourishing and yang-inducing medicines are often taken before noon because "it makes it easier for people's qi and blood to flow."

Afternoon: It is advisable to take laxatives (such as Dachengqi Decoction) at noon or in the evening. Laxatives "are taken after noon on the same day, as they are the Yin element and should be taken immediately." (Si time: 9 to 11 a.m., Wu time: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.) Other Chinese medicine practitioners also believe that laxatives are not suitable for consumption before noon.

Before going to bed: Generally 15 to 30 minutes before going to bed, it is advisable to take tranquilizer tablets or yin and blood nourishing medicine. At night, the internal organs are at their lowest function. If you take yin-replenishing supplements at this time, it will be like icing on the cake and increase the effectiveness.

Overnight: It is advisable to take dog anthelmintics, such as Wumei Pills, once before going to bed, and once on an empty stomach the next morning to facilitate sufficient digestion and absorption of the medicine, which helps kill the worms and excrete them out of the body.

Before meals: Generally take the medicine 30 to 60 minutes before meals. For the treatment of diseases with the main symptoms in the lower part (intestinal tract, kidney deficiency or below the waist), it is advisable to take the medicine before meals to allow the drug to take effect. Because on an empty stomach, the medicine can directly contact the digestive mucosa and quickly pass through the stomach into the intestines and stomach, so that more of it can be digested and fully exerted, and it will not be diluted by the food in the stomach and affect the drug effect.

After meal: Generally take the medicine 15 to 30 minutes after a meal. For the treatment of diseases with the main symptoms above (such as heart and lung function, chest diaphragm, stomach and wrist), it is advisable to take it after meals to increase the efficacy of the medicine. Stomachic and digestive medicines and medicines that are irritating to the digestive tract (such as Ganlu Xiaodu Dan, etc.) should be taken after meals to reduce the harm of the medicine to the gastrointestinal mucosa; medicines with severe toxic side effects should also be taken after meals to prevent the toxic drugs from being digested and absorbed too quickly and causing side effects.

Between meals: take medicine between meals to avoid the impact of food on medicine. Medicines for treating spleen and stomach diseases should be taken between meals. When taking Chinese herbal medicines, one should not only pay attention to the appropriate time of taking the medicine, but also pay attention to the frequency of taking the medicine and the temperature of the medicine, so as to achieve the best therapeutic effect.
