What to do if your gums fall off

Gum loss is an oral disease. The main causes of gum loss are gingivitis or periodontitis. For example, if you have tartar problems, the gums may be severely damaged. When this happens, you must strengthen oral hygiene and take good care of your oral health. You must understand the correct way to brush your teeth. Don't seek convenience and cheapness, and don't go to small clinics for dentures.

What to do if your gums fall off

1. Regular oral health care. Experience in developed countries has shown that cleaning teeth every 6 to 12 months is an effective measure to prevent gingivitis. Patients who already have symptoms of periodontal disease should receive systematic periodontal treatment in a timely manner.

2. Master the correct method of brushing your teeth. It is recommended to use a toothbrush with soft bristles and a blunt tip. Fluoride toothpaste is preferred, and the abrasive contained in it should be of appropriate coarseness and fineness. At the same time, you must learn the correct brushing posture. Most people can use the vertical brushing method or the short horizontal vibration method. If necessary, use toothpicks and dental floss to clean areas that are difficult to reach with a toothbrush.

3. Don’t pursue cheapness or convenience. Dentures are performed in small clinics with low technical levels and irregular operations, which is also the main reason for poor restorations.

4. If any patient feels that some of his teeth are moving abnormally, he should go to the hospital for examination in time for symptomatic treatment.

Causes of Gum Loss

Gum loss, also known as gum recession, is a common condition. The cause of the disease is periodontal disease, and one of the causes is tartar in the lower part of the gums. Tartar can cause gum atrophy, loose and falling teeth, etc. The periodontal ligament is subjected to chronic inflammatory stimulation for a long time, which causes the periodontal ligament fibers to gradually degenerate and be destroyed. When the periodontal tissues that support the teeth are gradually destroyed, the teeth will become loose.

Periodontal disease Most adults suffer from periodontal disease. Most of the periodontal diseases progress slowly, and most of them start as gingivitis. Except for occasional bleeding when brushing teeth, there are not many subjective symptoms, so it does not attract attention. When gingivitis develops to a certain extent, it becomes periodontitis, which can cause severe bad breath, repeated periodontal abscesses, loose teeth, wider and sparse teeth gaps, and in severe cases, tooth loss. If the patient sees a doctor at this stage, the doctor can control the worsening of inflammation, but the damaged periodontal tissue (including gingival recession) is irreversible and difficult to fully recover.
