How to remove facial scars

How to remove facial scars

Once scars appear on the face, it will seriously affect a person's psychology, because scars are more prominent on the face and will seriously affect the appearance. Therefore, when facial scars appear, certain methods must be taken to treat them. If the scars are not particularly deep or obvious, they can be removed through some small tricks in life, such as applying ginger. If they are more serious or even scar hyperplasia occurs, you must go to the hospital for formal treatment.

How to remove facial scars

1. Pressure therapy: Suitable for patients with large scar area who are not suitable for radiotherapy and local drug treatment. The daily downtime should not exceed 30 minutes. This method is not effective for active keloids, but it can reduce the dose of postoperative radiotherapy and injection.

2. Chemotherapy: Use long-acting steroid preparations and inject them directly into the scar to inhibit the excess collagen in the scar and achieve the effect of scar degeneration. The main side effects include skin atrophy, depigmentation, capillary dilation, necrosis, ulcers and Cushing's syndrome, most of which are reversible. Other chemical drugs such as cytotoxins, immunosuppressants and other drug treatments have been reported, but serious systemic side effects limit their application.

3. Radiotherapy: Early use of electron beam or X-ray irradiation (within 24 hours) after keloid removal can reduce the postoperative recurrence of keloid and improve the cure rate.

4. Laser treatment: Suitable for flat scars without obvious functional impairment, and scattered, uneven, depressed scars of varying sizes left after healing of smallpox, chickenpox, and acne.

5. Others: Such as cryotherapy, wax therapy, iontophoresis, ultrasound, etc., for the treatment of hypertrophic scars and keloids. The efficacy reports are inconsistent and there is a lack of large-scale case controls and follow-up.

Five tips for scar removal

1. Massage

Rub the scar with the base of your palm, three times a day, each time for 5-10 minutes. This method is most effective for wounds that have just shed scabs, but is less effective for old scars.

2. Ginger rubbing method

Gently rubbing the scar with sliced ginger can inhibit the further growth of granulation tissue.

3. Vitamin E smear method

Vitamin E can penetrate into the skin to play its moisturizing effect. At the same time, vitamin E can also maintain skin elasticity. But you may not be familiar with the scar removal effect of vitamin E. Poke a hole in the vitamin E capsule with a needle, take out the liquid inside and apply it on the scar and gently massage for 5-10 minutes, twice a day. You will see better results if you persist.

4. Vitamin C smear method

Vitamin C has a whitening effect. Apply vitamin C on darker scars to whiten them and make them consistent with the tone of the surrounding healthy skin.

5. Lavender essential oil application method

The beauty effects of lavender are always magical, and the effect of lavender essential oil in reducing scars is also widely recognized. However, lavender essential oil is not very effective for new scars or scars that are more than 8 years old. It is more effective for scars that are one to two years old. In addition, you should always be extremely careful when using essential oils. When applying essential oils to scars, be sure not to affect the skin without scars.
