How to treat herpes

The disease of herpes mainly manifests as acne on the face. It lurks in our neurons and can cause nerve pain and spread easily, so you should treat herpes in time. I believe many of my friends do not know the treatment method for herpes. I suggest that you can learn some relevant knowledge. However, we recommend that you go to the hospital for treatment in time if you encounter this disease, which will help better treat herpes.

Herpes zoster is caused by the varicella-zoster virus, which usually lies dormant in the dorsal root neurons of the spinal cord. However, if the body's resistance is low or if you are tired, infected, have a cold, have a fever, or are angry, the virus can grow and multiply again and move along the nerve fibers to the skin, causing severe inflammation of the invaded nerves and skin. The rash is generally unilateral and distributed according to nerve segments, composed of clustered herpes and accompanied by pain; the older the age, the more severe the neuralgia. This disease is called herpes zoster in modern medicine, and is commonly known as herpes zoster, herpes zoster, etc. As long as patients with herpes zoster receive active treatment and quickly eliminate the virus in the body and the virus transmitted to the peripheral nerves, there will be no sequelae. Otherwise, postherpetic neuralgia may occur.

Most people do not have obvious symptoms when they are infected for the first time, which causes many people not to know that they have been infected. However, once infected, the virus will remain dormant in the human body's ganglia for life, waiting for the opportunity to develop. Most people are first infected during childhood because they are kissed or infected by droplets from people with herpes labialis (such as parents, siblings), allowing the virus to enter the body. In addition to taking care of your own body to avoid recurrence, you should also protect your family and friends from being infected by yourself during the outbreak. Remember to wash your hands after touching the wound to prevent the virus from spreading from your hands.

The principles of Western medicine for the treatment of herpes zoster are antiviral, anti-inflammatory and analgesic, and prevention of secondary infection. Antiviral drugs include adenosine, acyclovir and interferon. Anti-inflammatory analgesics such as aspirin, indomethacin, vitamin B1, vitamin B12, etc. The local affected area can be applied with acyclovir ointment, 2% gentian violet solution or compound Sanguisorba officinalis zinc oxide oil (raw Sanguisorba officinalis 10g, Lithospermum officinale 5g, borneol 2g, zinc oxide oil added to 100g). If there is secondary infection, neomycin ointment can be applied externally.

Chickenpox is caused by infection with the virus through droplets or direct contact in childhood (a few are latent infections), after which the virus remains latent in the body and is carried for life. When the immune system is weakened, it is activated and migrates along peripheral nerve fibers to the skin, causing herpes zoster. Common causes include trauma, surgery, excessive fatigue, infectious diseases, menstruation, chemotherapy and radiotherapy, malignant tumors, etc. It occurs more frequently in spring and autumn, and is more common in adults. After recovery, lifelong immunity is obtained and recurrence is extremely unlikely. The purpose of treatment is to relieve symptoms, shorten the course of the disease, prevent secondary infection, and reduce postherpetic neuralgia. The antiviral drugs are acyclovir or valacyclovir, the painkillers are indomethacin (indomethacin) or carbamazepine, and the nerve nutrients are vitamins B1 and B2. Elderly patients should use corticosteroids as early as possible. Taking prednisone orally can relieve symptoms and reduce the sequelae of neuralgia. Local treatment is the same as for herpes simplex. In addition, physical therapy such as spectrum therapy and traditional Chinese medicine can also be used.
