Gastric bloating is one of our most common diseases. It usually manifests as stomach pain, poor diet, etc. There are many reasons for gastric bloating, including frequent anger, unhygienic diet, drinking too little water, abnormal life and work schedule, eating too fast or greasy food, excessive stress and physical illness. Patients need to judge the cause of their own disease to find an effective treatment method to prescribe the right medicine. 1. Stomach bloating Gastric bloating is a disease name and one of the bloating diseases. The main symptoms are bloating and epigastric pain. There are various reasons for stomach bloating, such as irregular lifestyle and unhygienic diet. The main physiological functions of the stomach are: temporarily storing food and digesting food. The process of food passing from the stomach into the small intestine is called gastric emptying. Generally, some of the food begins to be discharged into the duodenum 5 minutes after it enters the stomach. Different foods empty at different speeds, and it usually takes 4 to 6 hours for a mixed food to be completely emptied from the stomach. Gastric emptying depends primarily on the pressure difference between the two sides of the pylorus (inside the stomach and in the duodenum). Food causes gastric motility during gastric emptying, thereby generating intragastric pressure. When the pressure in the stomach is greater than the pressure in the duodenum, food can be discharged from the stomach. Conversely, the inhibition of gastric motility by duodenal contents slows down gastric emptying. Under pathological conditions, when there is inflammation, reflux, tumors in the stomach and duodenum, or changes in the composition of gastric juice and duodenal fluid, the emptying of the stomach will be delayed, and the food will continue to exert pressure on the stomach wall. At the same time, the excessive fermentation of food in the stomach produces a large amount of gas, which further increases the pressure in the stomach, resulting in a feeling of fullness and pressure in the upper abdomen, that is, bloating. From the perspective of traditional Chinese medicine, bloating is mainly caused by various causes that affect the stomach, causing the stomach qi to fail to descend normally and stagnate in the stomach. 2. Causes The main causes of stomach bloating are as follows: Stomach bloating 1. Worry, anger and resentment can also damage the stomach. 2. Unhygienic diet. Some pathogens produce toxins in the intestines, causing gastrointestinal diseases such as acute gastroenteritis. 3. Drinking too little water or eating too little fiber food can cause constipation and bloating. 4. Abnormal lifestyle. It may also cause the intestines to be too hungry or too full due to regular and quantitative eating, leading to abnormal intestinal movements, which can overload the gastrointestinal tract in the long run. 5. Eating too greasy food makes it difficult for the intestines to digest. A high-protein or high-fat diet can easily cause changes in intestinal flora, which is not conducive to the survival of beneficial bacteria. If you consume too much greasy food, the lipase and protease in the body will be overwhelmed and eventually exhausted. 6. Eating too fast. It will cause incomplete chewing, resulting in the digestive juice and food not being fully stirred and mixed, and thus not being fully digested and decomposed, causing damage to the intestines. 7. Excessive stress directly affects physiological functions, resulting in abnormal intestinal function. Such as excessive stomach acid, slowed peristalsis or accelerated peristalsis, etc. Excessive stomach acid can damage the gastric mucosa, accelerated peristalsis can cause frequent diarrhea, and slowed peristalsis can cause abdominal distension. Many stomach diseases can cause bloating. As long as the stomach diseases that cause bloating are cured, the bloating will naturally disappear. The reason why many stomach disease patients cannot be cured for a long time is that they also have gastric autonomic nervous system dysfunction. As long as the gastric autonomic nervous system dysfunction is cured, other stomach diseases will naturally recover. If patients with stomach diseases feel not only stomach discomfort, but also poor sleep, mental state, etc., then nine out of ten times it can be judged that they suffer from gastric autonomic nervous system dysfunction. It should be noted that gastric autonomic nerve disorder (i.e. gastric neurosis) is a functional disease that cannot be detected by instruments and is easily ignored by many doctors and patients. Some patients cannot understand it, and some doctors cannot understand it either. Therefore, many doctors do not know how to use medication in this regard, which delays the treatment of patients and causes long-term treatment to fail to heal! 8. Causes of diseases: Clinically, superficial gastritis, duodenal ulcer, acute gastritis, etc. These patients often suffer from stomach bloating. Due to the damage of gastrointestinal mucosa, they often manifest in the form of stomach bloating, nausea, loss of appetite, etc. 9. In a small number of patients, bloating occurs due to damage to the stomach network, consumption of qi and blood, and malfunction of the stomach after gastric surgery. |
