Pain in the mouth next to the teeth

Pain in the mouth next to the teeth

Teeth do not hurt easily, but some pains are more severe. The pain in the flesh next to the teeth belongs to gum pain, which can be mainly judged as a type of gingivitis. Under normal circumstances, this disease is irreversible and requires oral examination and then reasonable treatment, because food inlay, dental plaque, and tartar are all causes of pain next to the teeth.

Causes of symptoms

Plaque and microorganisms, dental plaque, tartar, food impaction, bad habits and certain hobbies, chemical stimulation, malocclusion and poor restorations, radiation damage, etc. provide favorable conditions for the growth of dental plaque. The metabolites of dental plaque components can directly damage the gingival tissue.

diagnosis

Gingivitis is seen in general poor oral hygiene, with obvious presence of plaque and tartar, swollen gingival tissue, thickening of gingival margin, the interdental papillae no longer fitting tightly against the tooth surface, the disappearance of stippling, a smooth surface that is prone to bleeding, and increased exudation of gingival sulcus fluid.

Differential Diagnosis

Differential diagnosis between early periodontitis and gingivitis: Gingivitis involves inflammation of the gums, but in the form of pseudo-periodontal pockets. Clinically, there is no attachment loss and no absorption of alveolar bone. After treatment, the tissue can return to normal and the lesions are reversible. [1]

examine

1. Oral examination

Check whether the gums are red, swollen, dark red, with no stippling, smooth and shiny surface, soft texture, lack of elasticity, etc.; check the depth of the gingival sulcus, whether pseudo-periodontal pockets are formed, whether there are tartar and plaque deposits on the neck of the teeth; and whether there is bleeding on probing.

2. Auxiliary examination

Including X-ray examination, etc.
