Tumor Specific Growth Factor

Tumor Specific Growth Factor

We all know that malignant tumors are particularly difficult to treat. Even after the tumor is removed, the tumor will regenerate. Therefore, patients with malignant tumors will give up during treatment. In fact, as long as the patient maintains an optimistic attitude and actively cooperates with the doctor's treatment, there is a great chance of recovery. When the tumor is more serious, it is a malignant tumor, specific growth factor, so what is malignant tumor-specific growth factor?

Tumor Specific Growth Factor

Tumor Specific Growth Factor

Growth Factor (TSGF) is the result of massive proliferation of malignant tumors and their surrounding capillaries, and is gradually released into the peripheral blood as the tumor forms and grows.

In 1989, scientists from the University of Toronto in Canada discovered that TSGF exists in the blood of patients with malignant tumors and plays an important role in the proliferation of blood vessels in malignant tumors, with a significant increase in the early stages of tumor formation. Serum TSGF is a new, broad-spectrum tumor marker with high sensitivity and specificity. The detection method is simple and rapid, and the results are stable. It has important clinical significance and application value in the initial screening, early auxiliary diagnosis, efficacy evaluation and prediction of tumor recurrence of malignant tumors.

Reasons for screening indicators

It is now clear that the growth and metastasis of tumors require blood vessel proliferation to provide nutrition. In order to make blood vessels proliferate, tumor tissue secretes a substance that promotes blood vessel growth and releases it into the peripheral blood - malignant tumor-specific growth factor, which promotes blood vessel proliferation. It not only has the specificity for malignant tumors, but is also released into the blood in the early stages of cancer formation and reaches a certain concentration, with no obvious relationship with non-tumor vascular proliferation. Through chemical color development and analysis techniques, the TSGF content that increases when cells undergo malignant transformation can be detected. Therefore, this indicator can be used as a physical examination indicator and is a screening test suitable for group tumor screening.

Features

1. Broad spectrum. 2. The specificity is relatively high. 3. It increases in the early stages of cancer4. Unable to locate

This detection method overcomes the previous limitation of only being able to detect one or several tumor-related substances, and performs joint detection of multiple indicators. In the early stages of cancer, although the increase in each indicator is small and the reaction value is low, making it undetectable, the superposition of the color development of several indicators increases the depth of the color development, thereby achieving the purpose of early diagnosis while also improving sensitivity and specificity.

Literature reports that the sensitivity of serum TSGF detection in diagnosing untreated esophageal cancer, liver cancer, lung cancer, and gastric cancer is over 80%. There was no significant difference between the various malignant tumors themselves (P>0.05), indicating that TSGF detection has good specificity and "broad spectrum", but each malignant tumor group was significantly different from the non-malignant tumor group and the normal control group.
