Early symptoms of AIDS

Early symptoms of AIDS

Even today when medical technology is so advanced, AIDS is still a disease for which no cure has been found, so when people hear about AIDS, they are often very scared. Moreover, AIDS is highly contagious. People with AIDS must pay attention to their daily life and eating habits. However, after contracting AIDS, there is often a certain latent period, and some people do not realize that they have AIDS, which leads to worse conditions. So what are the early symptoms of AIDS?

What is AIDS

What is AIDS? AIDS, also known as acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS), is an infectious disease caused by human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection, which is mainly transmitted through sexual intercourse, blood contact or mother-to-child contact. After being infected with HIV, the body's immune function will be suppressed, which can easily lead to viral infection and tumor occurrence.

When a person is infected with HIV, it will cause damage to T lymphocytes, leading to persistent immunodeficiency, opportunistic infections and rare malignant tumors in multiple organs, and ultimately death.

How did AIDS come about?

How did AIDS come about? AIDS is caused by infection with the HIV virus. Once the virus invades the human body, it invades the lymphocytes through the blood, replicates inside the cells and causes the death of lymphocytes. After the virus replicates in large quantities, it continues to infect other lymphocytes, eventually leading to lymphocyte depletion and severe damage to the body's immune function.

There are three main ways of HIV transmission, including sexual transmission, blood transmission and mother-to-child transmission.

1. Transmission through sexual contact: including sexual contact between the same sex and the opposite sex. Anal and oral sex carry a greater risk of infection.

2. Blood transmission: transfusion of HIV-contaminated blood or blood products, or intravenous drug addicts sharing HIV-contaminated, unsterilized needles and syringes.

3. Mother-to-child transmission: A mother infected with HIV transmits the virus to the fetus or baby before, during, and shortly after delivery. It can be transmitted through the placenta, through the birth canal during delivery, or through breastfeeding.

Early symptoms of AIDS

What are the early symptoms of AIDS? Some patients have no clinical symptoms in the early stage of HIV infection, but most HIV patients may develop clinical symptoms caused by HIV viremia and acute damage to the immune system 6 to 6 weeks after infection. The early symptoms of AIDS are mainly manifested as:

1. Persistent and widespread lymphadenopathy, especially in the cervical, axillary and inguinal lymph nodes. The lymph nodes are enlarged to about 1 cm in diameter, are hard, painless, and movable, and have lasted for more than three months.

2. Unexplained fever and night sweats for several weeks.

3. Severe, unexplained fatigue that has occurred for several weeks.

4. Decreased appetite and weight loss of more than 10% of original body weight within two months.

5. Chronic diarrhea of unknown cause has occurred for several weeks, which is watery and occurs more than 10 times a day.

6. Shortness of breath and dry cough for several weeks.

7. Large flat or raised pink or purple spots appear on the skin and mouth, which are neither painful nor itchy.

8. White film appears in the pharynx and larynx. Men have scaly spots and itching on their genitals; women have anal itching, vaginal itching, and leucorrhea that are often treated as gynecological diseases but do not heal for a long time.

9. No other cause can be found for headache and blurred vision.

If you experience three or more of the above symptoms and engage in high-risk behavior, you should go to the hospital for examination in time.
