Can I check my liver function during menstruation?

Menstruation is a physiological reaction for many women and comes on time every month. Sometimes, some situations may occur, causing it to be delayed or advanced. During this stage, women's physical condition is relatively weak and they are prone to some problems, so they need to take good care of themselves on a daily basis. Liver function is very helpful for people to understand because when something goes wrong it can cause a lot of serious symptoms in other parts of the body. Later, people started to get acne on their faces, which was caused by poor liver function. So for people who are menstruating, can their liver function be checked?

Liver disease experts say: Although liver function tests include a variety of sensitive indicators (such as transaminase, bilirubin, etc.), generally speaking, the menstrual period will not directly affect the accuracy of liver function test results. Therefore, for women, liver function can also be checked during menstruation, and there is no need to doubt the authenticity of the results.

However, liver function test indicators such as transaminase and bilirubin can be affected by adverse factors such as diet, exercise and drugs, so the accuracy of liver function test results cannot be guaranteed. Special attention should be paid before liver function test:

1. Absolutely fasting: After the human body eats, some proteins, peppers, greasy foods and other foods will interfere with the liver function test results to a certain extent. Therefore, the tester must not eat within 12-14 hours before checking the liver function. The best effect is to check on an empty stomach in the early morning.

2. Eat in moderation and get enough rest: Do not drink alcohol the day before the examination, eat a light diet, do not eat fried or greasy food, get enough rest, and do not overwork or stay up late.

3. Avoid the influence of drugs: Try not to take drugs or health products that are harmful to the liver before the examination. If the condition requires, explain the details to the doctor for diagnosis.

4. Check liver function with fasting blood: Fasting blood refers to venous blood collected in the early morning before meals, 12-14 hours after the previous meal. To check liver function, you need to go to the hospital for blood drawing on an empty stomach in the morning. Do not eat after 8 pm the day before the test, and avoid breakfast, so as not to affect the liver function results.

5. Pay attention to rest: ensure sleep, avoid strenuous exercise, eat light food before the examination, and do not drink alcohol. You should not do physical exercise or strenuous exercise that morning. You should go to the hospital and rest quietly for 20 minutes before having your blood drawn for testing.

6. Try not to take medicines: especially avoid taking medicines that damage the liver, and do not take health products or nutritional supplements, so as not to affect the results due to medicines. If your physical condition permits, it is best to stop taking the medication 3 to 5 days before the liver function test. If your condition requires it, you do not have to stop taking the medication forcibly, but you need to inform your doctor during the test.

7. Try to avoid doing liver function tests during intravenous infusion or within 4 hours of medication. To prevent drugs from interfering with liver function results. Five liver function tests

Reminder: If you find abnormal liver function, don’t worry or be anxious. Go to a regular hospital to find out the cause and receive professional treatment to recover your health as soon as possible.
