What is multiple lymph node metastasis?

Lymph node metastasis is the most common way of tumor metastasis. It refers to the phenomenon that infiltrating tumor cells pass through the wall of lymphatic vessels, fall off, and are carried to the confluence lymph nodes with the lymph fluid, and the same tumor grows around this center.

Cancer metastasis 1. Cervical cancer Cervical lymph node metastatic carcinoma, English name: cervical lymph node metastatic carcinoma, cervical lymph node metastatic carcinoma (cervical lymph node metastatic carcinoma) accounts for about 3/4 of the total number of malignant tumors in the neck; its incidence rate is second only to chronic lymphadenitis and thyroid disease among neck masses. The vast majority (85%) of primary cancer lesions are in the head and neck, especially nasopharyngeal carcinoma and thyroid cancer metastasis are the most common. The primary cancer lesions of supraclavicular fossa metastatic tumors are mostly in the chest and abdomen (including lungs, mediastinum, breasts, gastrointestinal tract, pancreas, etc.); however, cervical lymph node metastasis of gastrointestinal tract and pancreatic cancer mostly occurs in the left supraclavicular fossa through the thoracic duct.

2. Esophageal cancer Esophageal cancer is a common malignant tumor in clinical practice with high mortality and poor prognosis. There are many factors that affect the prognosis of esophageal cancer, the main factors being tumor metastasis and tumor invasion. Lymph nodes are the main site of esophageal cancer metastasis, and their lymphatic drainage areas involve the neck, chest, and abdomen. Their detection and monitoring are of great clinical significance. Lymphatic metastasis is the main metastasis mode of esophageal cancer. The range of lymphatic metastasis of esophageal cancer is relatively wide and there are certain metastasis patterns. 3. Lung cancer Lung cancer lymph node metastasis is the common and main spread route of bronchogenic carcinoma. The treatment of lung cancer lymph node metastasis depends on the situation of lymph node metastasis. There are three types of lung cancer lymph node metastasis: one is hilar lymph node metastasis N1, where N is the abbreviation of lymph node. For example, we live in 201, 200 and 202, which are N1. N1 lung cancer can be well cured through surgery. For patients with hilar lymph node metastasis N1 confirmed by pathology after surgery, the five-year survival rate can be prolonged by adding adjuvant chemotherapy after surgery. 4. Breast cancer Breast cancer cancer cells spread along the lymphatic vessels and metastasize to the lymph nodes. The most recent metastasis to the supraclavicular lymph nodes proves that it is in the middle and late stages and can be treated with radiation therapy.

Conditions for feasible breast-conserving surgery: 1. Peripheral breast tumor, breast tumor located outside the areola and nipple. 2. Breast cancer with tumor size ≤3 cm. 3. If the tumor is >3cm but ≤5cm, 2 to 4 cycles of chemotherapy should be performed first. If the tumor is ≤3cm, breast-conserving surgery can still be performed. 4. No axillary lymph node metastasis (European and American studies suggest that breast cancer patients with positive axillary lymph nodes are also eligible for breast-conserving surgery). 5. For patients whose breast mammography shows localized microcalcifications and whose cancer is confirmed by stereotactic excision biopsy, breast-conserving surgery can still be performed. 6. Studies have shown that as long as the resection margin is negative, breast-conserving surgery can be performed for both invasive ductal carcinoma and invasive lobular carcinoma. Absolute contraindications: There are two or more tumors in different quadrants, and the mammography shows scattered malignant calcifications.
