What is dry operation syndrome?

Sjögren's syndrome is a disease caused by problems with the human immune system. The main manifestation of this disease is dehydration, so people with Sjögren's syndrome tend to secrete less saliva in their mouths and tears in their eyes. Moreover, Sjögren's syndrome not only affects these parts, but also other organs and even a person's respiratory system. Therefore, it is very necessary for everyone to have a proper understanding of Sjögren's syndrome.

Sjögren's syndrome is a chronic autoimmune disease that invades the lacrimal glands, salivary glands and other organs, also known as autoimmune exocrine gland disease. Its main manifestations are keratoconjunctivitis sicca, xerostomia or rheumatic diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis. It can affect other systems such as the respiratory system, digestive system, urinary system, blood system, nervous system, muscles, joints, causing damage to multiple systems and organs. This disease also occurs independently in other autoimmune diseases, such as primary Sjögren's syndrome secondary to rheumatoid arthritis, systemic sclerosis, systemic lupus erythematosus, and secondary Sjögren's syndrome in other immune system diseases. A disease with a high incidence rate, mostly occurring in women over 40 years old.

The cause of Sjögren's syndrome is still unknown, but medical scientists at home and abroad generally believe that it is related to the following factors:

1 Autoimmunity: Sjögren's syndrome reflects the cell suppressive dysfunction of highly hyperthyroid B lymphocytes and T lymphocytes. Various autoantibodies are detected in the body of patients, such as antinuclear antibodies, rheumatoid factor, anti-RNP antibodies, anti-SSA antibodies, anti-SSB antibodies, and hypergammaglobulinemia.

2. Genetic basis; in immunogenetic determination, medical scientists found that human leukocyte antigen HLA-DR3, B8 is closely related to Sjögren's syndrome, because different races, different people, such as Western Europeans, are associated with HLA-B8, DR3, DW52, Japanese and HLA-DR53.

3. Viral infection: At least three viruses, such as Epstein-Barr virus, cytomegalovirus, HIV virus and Sjögren's syndrome. Epstein-Barr virus can stimulate B cell proliferation and immunoglobulin.

symptom

Dry mouth signs:

(1) Dry mouth: More than 80% of patients experience dry mouth symptoms, which is caused by reduced saliva secretion.

, dry mouth, no saliva or spit, unable to swallow dry food, need water to swallow meals, need to bring water.

(2) Reduce dental caries: The dryest integrated syndrome patients lose the moisturizing, flushing and nutritional effects of saliva secreted by the salivary glands, and their teeth gradually become darker and close in pieces, leaving only residual roots and residual teeth. Due to the occurrence and severity of this situation, the general dental caries is more serious, which is called "rampant dental caries. Swollen parotid glands

(3) : About 40% of patients have a history of repeated alternating parotid gland swelling on both sides of the body several times a year, with minor colds or fatigue leading to epileptic seizures.

(4) Special tongue manifestations: We found that in the diagnosis of typical clinical manifestations of patients with Sjögren's syndrome, the tongue has the following characteristics: deep red, red-purple or dark red, tender red like a mirror, or cracks and criss-crossing grooves, no saliva or coating, and difficulty in extending the tongue outside the mouth.

2. Eye manifestations:

The secretory function of the tear glands decreases, and patients feel dry eyes, few or no tears, and shed tears due to emotions. There is a foreign body friction or burning sensation in the eyes, heavy eyelids, and a conscious front curtain-like obstruction. There are photophobia, eye pain, and recurrent keratoconjunctivitis. In severe cases, sticky sputum, cough and vomiting, dry stools, vaginal dryness, and pain during sexual intercourse may occur, as well as pannus, corneal perforation, iritis, or stratified purulent effusions.

3. Dry skin, dry nose and no tears.

treat

No special treatment is required. Corticosteroids and immunosuppressants have certain effects, but long-term use can have serious consequences and should be used with caution. It can be appropriately used to prevent excessive hormones and anti-tuberculosis drugs (such as rifampicin) caused by pulmonary tuberculosis.

The characteristics of patients with Sjögren's syndrome are spring yin deficiency as the basis and dryness and heat as the standard, which shows signs of dryness and heat in the eyes, mouth, skin, vagina, etc.

Therefore, the diet of patients with Sjögren's syndrome should tend to be sweet, cool and moisturizing food, eat more yin-nourishing and heat-clearing liquids, such as fermented black beans, loofah, celery, red mountain vegetable, day lily, wolfberry head, celery, mussels, turtle and other soft foods, fruits such as watermelon, orange, fresh pear, fresh lotus root are sweet and cold, and can promote the production of body fluids. Dry mouth can often contain plums, Tibetan fruits, or consume various sour plum juice, lemon juice and other fluid drinks to quench thirst.

Avoid spicy and hot drinks and foods to prevent DM, as dryness can worsen the condition.

Eat spicy, fragrant, and warm foods, such as wine, tea, coffee, all kinds of fried foods, mutton, dog meat, venison, as well as ginger, onion, garlic, chili, pepper, prickly ash, fennel and non-smoking areas.

For patients with Sjögren's syndrome with a long course of illness, at the same time, they should correctly treat dietary taboos and there are no too strict taboos. Too strict taboos will affect the absorption of nutrients under unfavorable conditions.

In short, food should be fresh meat and vegetables, small meals, appropriate diet, suitable taste and sufficient nutrition.

For joint pain, use acupuncture and physical therapy. For dry skin, apply lotion and soothing syrup. For dry nasal cavity, use saline drops. Avoid using oily lubricants to prevent inhalation of lipoid pneumonia. For vaginal dryness, lubricants that interfere with sexual life, and pay attention to keeping the vulva clean and hygienic.
