How to first aid for sudden cerebral infarction

If sudden cerebral infarction is not treated in time, it may lead to the patient's death, so it is necessary to check whether the elderly have brain diseases to avoid sudden cerebral infarction and other brain diseases. The first aid method for sudden cerebral infarction is mainly to keep the airway open, avoid inhalation of vomitus and do not move the patient's head. The most important thing is to call 120 for emergency help in time.

First aid for elderly people suffering from sudden cerebral infarction

1. The patient should lie flat without a pillow or with a low pillow, with the head tilted to one side to keep the airway open and avoid accidentally inhaling vomit into the respiratory tract, which may cause suffocation. Avoid blocking your mouth with a towel or other objects as this may hinder your breathing.

2. If a patient falls to the ground, he or she can be moved to a spacious and ventilated place for first aid. Slightly raise the upper body, keep quiet, check for external injuries, and bandage if there is bleeding.

3. Try not to move the patient's head and upper body, if necessary. One person should support the head and keep it level with the body.

4. Dial “120” for help and ask emergency personnel to come and provide first aid.

5. Oxygen inhalation. If blood pressure rises significantly but the patient is conscious, oral antihypertensive drugs can be taken.

6. Stay beside the patient. If vomitus is found blocking the airway, take measures such as using hands to clear the airway to clear it. Perform mouth-to-mouth artificial respiration if breathing stops.

7. Patients with cerebral infarction should be sent to the hospital for a CT scan to differentiate the type of stroke and receive further treatment based on the cause.

8. After the condition stabilizes, the patient will be sent to the hospital for further examination and treatment under close monitoring. Try to keep the patient steady when moving him.
