Cupping for Herpes Zoster

Cupping for Herpes Zoster

In addition to actively preventing shingles, if the early symptoms of shingles appear, we should go to the hospital in time for appropriate medication and physical therapy to avoid complications such as neuralgia or other symptoms. If the shingles are delayed, the condition will become more serious.

Cupping treatment for herpes zoster:

1Clinical medical materials

1.1 The 28 patients in the general material group were all from our hospital. They were all diagnosed by the dermatology department and had used antiviral Chinese and Western medicines, but the effects were slow. The patients could not bear the burning pain and went to the undergraduate hospital for treatment. Among the 28 patients, there were 15 males and 13 females, the oldest was 76 years old and the youngest was 12 years old. Among them, there were 13 party members and cadres, 8 teachers, 4 farmers, and 3 students. The month with the most cases is February, and the month with the least is 3 days. The disease occurs in the waist, chest and abdomen. The largest area can be from the anterior midline through the axilla to both sides of the midline, and double clustered herpes can appear at these locations. Herpes appears as millet-sized or mung bean-sized transparent papules with a reddish base.

1.2 Treatment method (1) Special tools: 1 seven-star plum blossom needle and several jars. (2) Operation steps: Use 75% ethanol to disinfect the affected area, then use a seven-star plum blossom needle to tap vertically on the herpes area with a moderate amount of stimulation to make it bleed slightly, and then cupping. After removing the cup, disinfect and sterilize it again to prevent infection. During the treatment, if the total area is very large, it can be divided into several treatments. Because the plum blossom needle irritates the skin and is quite painful, some patients have poor physical constitution and poor tolerance to pain and cannot bear it at one time, so it can be treated in several times.

2 Results

All 28 cases in the group were cured after 1 to 3 treatments.

Treatment of herpes zoster:

Traditional Chinese Medicine Acupuncture and Cupping: Use traditional Chinese medicine acupuncture and cupping to treat herpes zoster, draw out the body's toxins and remove bad blood, thereby achieving the purpose of relieving pain and curing the disease.

Medication treatment: Antiviral drugs are used to treat the cause of the disease, inhibit herpes zoster virus infection to varying degrees, and promote the patient's recovery. Timely, reasonable, and appropriate medication can sometimes reduce the incidence of post-herpetic neuralgia. There are also some immunity-enhancing drugs and drugs that promote nerve repair.

Physical therapy: The physical therapy methods currently used mainly include ultraviolet light, low-frequency therapy devices, linear polarized light, far infrared, lasers, etc. The main function of treatment is anti-inflammatory and analgesic.

Epidural space injection: The epidural space is a potential space between the ligamentum flavum and the dura mater, filled with connective tissue, blood vessels, nerve roots and human fat. After the introduction of the drug, it can directly act on the affected tissues and nerves of patients with acute herpes zoster. Clinically, it can obtain immediate and satisfactory analgesic effects, shorten the current medical history, and promote the recovery of acute herpes zoster treatment.

Patients with herpes zoster should be careful:

The erythema and blisters on the left face and neck are typical symptoms of herpes zoster. Herpes zoster is common in the ribs, waist, neck, head and face. If not treated in time, it will cause post-herpetic neuralgia. If herpes zoster on the head and face is not treated in time, it may also cause complications such as deafness, blindness, and facial paralysis.
