What is fire therapy? Fire therapy is good for these diseases

Fire therapy is a common Chinese medicine treatment. Fire therapy is very effective in treating some rheumatic diseases. Patients with rheumatic cold joint pain can relieve pain well if they can adhere to regular fire therapy. In addition, people with low back pain can also undergo fire therapy frequently.

1. Rheumatic cold joint pain

Rheumatic cold joint pain is undoubtedly "arthritis" in traditional Chinese medicine. "Suwen. Arthritis" says: "Wind, cold and dampness come together and combine to form arthritis." Xiaobi Powder uses Zhi Yuanhu and other herbs that warm the meridians, dredge the collaterals and relieve pain as the main medicine; Baizhi, Fangfeng, Duhuo, Clematis, dispel wind, overcome dampness and dredge the collaterals as the auxiliary medicine; Danshen, Chuanpei, peach kernel, Angelica, Safflower and other herbs that nourish the blood and activate blood circulation are used to achieve the effect of "treating wind by treating the blood first, and the wind will disappear when the blood circulates"; Morus alba and other herbs that dredge the collaterals and lead the herbs directly to the affected area are the guiding herbs. The whole formula has the effects of dispelling cold and relieving pain, dredge the meridians and activate the collaterals, dispel wind and dampness. Fire therapy is used to enhance the warm nature of the herbs, quickly reach the affected area, eliminate evil and rheumatism, circulate Yang Qi, and unblock the meridians. The effect is rapid, there is no adverse reaction, and it should be promoted.

For rheumatic cold joint pain, Western medicine uses non-sterile anti-inflammatory and analgesic drugs for symptomatic treatment. Although it can relieve symptoms, it has many side effects after taking the medicine. Traditional Chinese medicine often uses toxic substances such as Aconitum and Asarum. If the decocting method is not properly controlled, it will affect the efficacy and may cause accidents. Using traditional Chinese medicine fire therapy can not only use the warmth of the medicine to dispel cold and dampness, but also make the skin sweat pores unobstructed, and the effective ingredients of the medicine can reach the diseased area directly, thereby achieving the purpose of absorbing inflammation and edema, loosening muscle spasms, and relieving joint pain.

2. Arthritis

Osteoarthritis of the knee is the destruction of the knee cartilage due to mechanical trauma, strain, inflammation or congenital factors, which causes the cartilage to become thinner, rough and easy to fall off, or proliferate and harden to produce osteophytes, cartilage slippage, and exudation of fluid, forming a large amount of effusion, which causes the mechanical balance in the joint to be disturbed and clinical symptoms appear. Traditional Chinese medicine believes that the cause of the disease is mostly due to liver and kidney deficiency, loss of vitality of tendons and bones, as well as trauma, strain, and invasion of wind, cold and dampness. In the fire therapy prescription, Drynaria fortunei, Achyranthes bidentata, etc. nourish the kidney, strengthen the tendons and bones, and benefit the joints; Rhizoma Smilacis Glabrae etc. nourish the blood, promote blood circulation and unclog the meridians; Clematis chinensis etc. dispel wind and dampness, relax the tendons and relieve pain to eliminate evil; white wine relaxes the tendons and promotes blood circulation; aged vinegar softens bone hyperplasia. Fire therapy applies the medicine directly to the patient's local area, warming it to improve local blood circulation, allowing the medicine to penetrate directly into deep tissues, while enhancing local metabolism, which is beneficial to the absorption and subsidence of swelling and pain. Massage can loosen local muscles, block local nerves, relieve pain, and at the same time improve the blood circulation of local soft tissues and nerve roots, enhance the aerobic metabolism of local tissues, and promote the return of lymph and blood. The combination of the two has a better effect in treating knee osteoarthritis.

3. Low back pain

Refers to pain on one or both sides of the waist. Traditional Chinese medicine believes that the waist is an external organ of the kidney, and the Foot-Taiyang Bladder Meridian runs along the spine to the middle of the waist. Low back pain is closely related to the kidney and bladder. "Suwen·Essentials of Pulse" says: "The waist is the internal organ of the kidney. If it cannot move, the kidney will be exhausted." This shows that kidney deficiency is enough to cause low back pain. The "Golden 9 Essentials" even has a record of "kidney disease": "cold pain below the waist, waist feels heavy as if wearing five thousand coins." Its characteristic is low back pain caused by internal invasion of cold and dampness. The pathogenesis of low back pain caused by cold and dampness is that the patient usually has kidney yang deficiency and weak constitution, which causes cold and dampness to invade the waist, obstruct the meridians, and cause poor circulation of qi and blood, resulting in pain.
