Symptoms of postpartum depression:

According to the definition of PPD, it includes all depressions that occur within 1 year after delivery, but most PPD occurs within the first 3 months after delivery. The main symptoms of PPD are low mood, tears and unexplained sadness, but symptoms such as irritability, anxiety, fear and panic are also common in mothers with depression. Lack of motivation and boredom are also important related symptoms. The active nervous system symptoms of PPD include loss of appetite, weight loss, early sleep, tiredness and weakness, and constipation. In terms of cognition, PPD can cause inattention, forgetfulness and lack of confidence. In more severe cases, there may also be reduced self-esteem, disappointment and a sense of uselessness. In such cases, they should be asked whether they have attempted suicide.

The main manifestation is depression, which usually occurs 2 weeks after delivery and becomes obvious 4 to 6 weeks after delivery.
