Renal insufficiency

Renal insufficiency

The occurrence of renal insufficiency is caused by many reasons, which can be divided into acute and chronic. The harm of this disease is also very great. In severe cases, it will pose a great threat to the patient's life safety. Some symptoms will appear after the disease occurs. Gastrointestinal symptoms include abdominal discomfort and anorexia. Cardiovascular system symptoms include blood pressure and height, which can cause great harm to the body.

Renal insufficiency must attract our attention, especially chronic renal insufficiency. If it is not treated, it will cause serious harm. For patients with renal insufficiency, daily diet therapy is very important. This method can also effectively relieve the symptoms of renal insufficiency.

First, in order to maximize the utilization of protein intake and prevent it from being converted into energy for consumption, energy must be supplemented while adopting a low-protein diet in the renal insufficiency diet. At least 35 kcal of calories per kilogram of body weight per day should be mainly supplied by sugar. You can eat fruits, sucrose products, chocolate, jam, honey, etc.

Second, there must be a reasonable protein intake. The metabolic products in the human body mainly come from the protein component in the diet. Therefore, in order to reduce the workload of the remaining kidneys, the protein intake must be adapted to the excretion capacity of the kidneys.

For example, when the blood creatinine is 170-440 micromol/L, the appropriate amount of protein is 0.6 grams per kilogram of body weight per day. For those with large amounts of proteinuria, an additional 1.5 grams of protein can be supplemented for every gram of urine protein lost. When blood creatinine exceeds 440 micromol/L, protein intake should be further reduced, with the total amount not exceeding 30 grams per day. However, it must be emphasized that if one blindly pursues restricting protein intake, it will lead to malnutrition and physical deterioration in patients, and the effect will not be good.

Third, the amount of salt in the diet for renal insufficiency should be determined according to the condition. If there is hypertension or edema, a low-salt diet of 2 grams of salt per day is recommended.

Fourth, it is worth noting that although some foods meet the previous conditions, such as egg yolks, meat floss, animal offal, dairy products, bone marrow, etc., they are not suitable for consumption due to their high phosphorus content, because the retention of phosphorus can further deteriorate the function of the kidneys. To reduce the phosphorus content in food, fish, meat, potatoes, etc. should be boiled in water and the soup discarded before further cooking.

Fifth, drugs excreted through the kidneys may also damage the kidneys, such as gentamicin, neomycin, streptomycin, gentamicin, Aristolochia tenuifolia, sulfonamide antibiotics, penicillin and autoimmune injections, indomethacin, paracetamol, as well as hormones, contrast agents, etc.

In addition, if you have high blood pressure, diabetes, or infection, you must also prevent these diseases from damaging your kidneys.

For staple food, you can choose Jiangsu standard rice, medium white rice, Fuqiang flour, and lotus root starch. It is not advisable to use Jiangsu standard three glutinous rice and Beijing special one rice.

For the renal insufficiency diet, fish and meat can be selected from lean pork, lean lamb, chicken, duck, large yellow croaker, eel, pomfret, crucian carp, yellow eel, loach, river shrimp, ham, pig heart, chicken gizzard, and clams. It is not advisable to use various meat floss, brains, livers and lungs of various animals, beef and milk powder, dried shark, dried squid, scallops, turtles, herring, dried knife fish, dried shrimp, dried shrimp, whitefish, carp, hairtail, river crabs, etc.

Pickles and dried vegetables, including pickled greens, snow vegetable, kohlrabi, dried radish, pickled radish, and sweet and sour garlic are all available. It is not advisable to use pickled toon, mustard tuber, pickled cucumber, button mushroom, shiitake mushroom, white fungus, seaweed, and kelp.

Soy products include soy milk, jelly, vermicelli, and green beans. It is not suitable to use soybeans, mung beans, red beans, broad beans, vegetarian chicken, fried tofu, dried tofu, and gluten.

We should know more about the symptoms of renal insufficiency, especially the early symptoms. The earlier the treatment is discovered, the better the effect will be. At the same time, don’t be afraid. The chance of inheriting this disease is very small. Patients should be in good condition, actively cooperate with treatment, and eat a reasonable diet, and the body will surely recover to a healthy state as soon as possible.
