Systemic lupus erythematosus nephritis

Systemic lupus erythematosus nephritis

Systemic lupus erythematosus nephritis is a disease of the kidneys. This disease is most common in female adolescence. Studies have shown that there is a high probability that this disease will be inherited. Systemic lupus erythematosus nephritis affects the glomeruli and renal tubules. There are many symptoms of this disease, the most common of which are fever, persistent high fever, loss of appetite, fatigue, and significant weight loss.

You may not know about systemic lupus erythematosus nephritis. It is a very common kidney disease. When the disease occurs, there are systemic symptoms, such as fever and skin symptoms. The skin and mucous membranes will be damaged. Let us understand the cause of this disease, which will also be helpful for future treatment.

(1) Ultraviolet rays: Ultraviolet rays are considered to be one of the causes of SLE. Experiments have found that ultraviolet rays (mainly ultraviolet rays 290-320nm) can induce skin keratinocytes to produce interleukin-1 (IL-1), IL-3,

IL-6 and tumor necrosis factor (TNF); ultraviolet rays can also weaken the clearance of antigens by macrophages and inhibit T cell activation; about 1/3 of SLE patients are allergic to light or develop the disease after ultraviolet exposure. Data show that ultraviolet rays can convert DNA in cells into thymine dimers, enhancing its antigenicity and inducing anti-DNA antibodies.

(2) Drugs or chemical substances: Certain drugs can cause photosensitivity in SLE patients, such as the sulfonamide tetracycline; some drugs can induce the production of autoantibodies, such as procainamide and hydralazine; some spices, dyes, hair dyes, smoked foods, and fungi can also induce SLE. Some people believe that after the drug or chemical substance binds to the cell nucleoprotein, antigenic denaturation occurs, which is also an important cause of autoimmune damage to the body.

(3) Infection: Infection-induced SLE has also been widely studied. Recent data have found that people infected with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) may develop SLE; infection with herpes simplex virus can cause an increase in the patient's serum Sm antigen concentration; SLE patients often have increased titers of antibodies to multiple viruses (such as rubella, Epstein-Barr virus, influenza, measles, etc.), especially type C RNA viruses.

3. Endocrine factors: Most SLE patients are female, and regardless of gender, the estrogen level is increased and the androgen level is decreased. It is speculated that high levels of estrogen can directly act on B cells, activating them and leading to a massive expansion of activated B cells that secrete autoantibodies. In experimental animals, it was found that estrogen can aggravate the disease, while androgen can alleviate it.

4. Autologous tissue antigen variation. Ultraviolet radiation, drug chemicals, pathogen infection and other factors may damage the body's own tissues, expose hidden tissue antigens or change the structure of normal tissue antigens, thereby stimulating the body's own immune damage.

We rarely hear about systemic lupus erythematosus nephritis in normal times. If you suffer from this disease, you must go to the hospital for a thorough examination in time to find out the cause. To prevent the occurrence of this disease, you must avoid sunlight exposure and ultraviolet radiation, and prevent cold. You should also eat a light diet and avoid greasy and indigestible foods.
