Causes of low albumin

Causes of low albumin

Albumin is an important element for the human body. Its deficiency is very harmful to human health. When albumin is low, it can also cause a variety of diseases. Therefore, when it is low, it must be improved in time to avoid threats to your health. So what is the reason for low albumin? Many people don’t understand this, and it does not appear randomly.

Many people are not very clear about the reasons for low albumin levels. When this happens, they don’t know how to solve the problem. When albumin levels are low, it is necessary to adjust various aspects of the human body, which will be helpful to physical health.

Causes of low albumin:

Reason 1: Low albumin usually means poor nutritional status; low globulin usually means low immune function or taking immunosuppressants, etc. However, it is difficult to determine the problem by looking at these two indicators alone. We also need to look at the total protein, albumin to globulin ratio, etc.

Reason 2: Low albumin is related to abnormal liver function and the decreased ability of the liver to synthesize protein. A high-calorie, high-protein, vitamin-rich and easily digestible food should be consumed in the diet, but not in excess, as it will increase the burden on the liver.

Reason three: Insufficient albumin synthesis, common in acute and chronic liver diseases. Protein malnutrition or malabsorption.

Reason 4: Malnutrition-induced hypoproteinemia or gastrointestinal diseases, poor absorption and digestion, lack of raw materials for protein production, such as gastric cancer, intestinal cancer, and liver cancer.

Reason 5: Nephrogenic hypoproteinemia: Due to the damage of the normal excretion barrier of the kidney, a large amount of serum albumin is excreted from the urine, and the total amount of protein lost is much more than the amount of protein consumed in a normal diet, which is the reason for low albumin.

Reason six: The liver is the main place for protein synthesis, and albumin is almost entirely synthesized by the liver. Damage to various liver and protein compensation functions will cause insufficient production. This will lead to low albumin.

Through the above introduction, we have a good understanding of the reasons for low albumin. When such a problem occurs, it is necessary to improve it in time, otherwise it will cause serious damage to all aspects of the body. Moreover, if the albumin level is seriously low, it will lead to physical weakness, so we must pay attention to this.
