The dangers of high bilirubin

The dangers of high bilirubin

The body also needs good protection, which will be very helpful in preventing diseases. In daily life, the best way to protect the body is diet. Reasonable diet arrangement has a good effect on improving all aspects of oneself. However, it should be noted that in the process of diet, some high-calorie and high-fat foods should be eaten less. What are the hazards of high bilirubin?

Many people do not fully understand the dangers of high bilirubin, and when it occurs, they do not know the cause. When this problem occurs, the body will also have obvious manifestations, and it will cause a variety of diseases.

Dangers of high bilirubin:

1) Excessive destruction of red blood cells.

2) Indirect bilirubin can pass through cell membranes, is toxic to cells, and cannot be excreted from the body through the kidneys.

3) High indirect bilirubin indicates that the liver’s compensatory ability is poor or there is a problem with the liver.

Bilirubin is a waste product of the metabolism of hemoglobin in red blood cells in the blood. If the bilirubin level in serum is too high, it indicates abnormalities such as liver disease or bile duct obstruction. The level of serum bilirubin represents the severity of the abnormality. If too many red blood cells are destroyed and too much indirect bilirubin is produced, the liver will not be able to completely convert it into direct bilirubin, resulting in hemolytic jaundice.

The inability of bilirubin to be converted into bile normally, liver cell lesions, liver cell swelling, compression of the intrahepatic bile duct or obstruction of bile excretion will all lead to an increase in bilirubin in the blood, leading to hepatocellular jaundice. Tumors or stones occur in the extrahepatic biliary system, causing bile duct obstruction and inability to excrete bile smoothly, leading to obstructive jaundice. Jaundice in hepatitis patients is mainly hepatocellular jaundice.

Through the above introduction, we have a good understanding of the dangers of high bilirubin. Therefore, in improving such problems, we must follow the doctor's advice. However, it should be noted that after such a situation occurs, we must pay attention to diet and remain emotionally stable, which is conducive to disease treatment.
