Medicines for treating otitis media

Otitis media is an inflammatory lesion of the structure inside or part of the ear. Most of them are non-specific inflammations. It is more common in children and can be divided into many aspects. The main common types of inflammation are secretory otitis media, suppurative otitis media and some other types. There are many cases, and we should also pay attention to the causes of these diseases in our lives. Listening to music with headphones can cause otitis media.

There are many causes of otitis media. Infants and young children may develop otitis media when feeding in a supine position. Swimming may cause otitis media. Colds may also cause otitis media. Therefore, it is a common symptom in daily life. Below we will briefly introduce the drugs for treating otitis media.

Drug treatment: Antibiotic aqueous solution or a mixture of antibiotics and steroid hormones, such as 0.25% chloramphenicol solution, chloramphenicol cortisone solution, and ofloxacin ear drops can be used to treat otitis media and otitis externa.

Precautions for topical use:

① Before using the medicine, clean the pus in the external auditory canal and middle ear cavity. You can use 3% hydrogen peroxide or boric acid water for cleaning, then wipe it clean with a cotton swab or use an aspirator to suck out the pus before dripping the medicine.

② When the amount of pus is large, use water; when the amount is small, use boric acid alcohol.

Large perforation of the eardrum affects hearing. Tympanoplasty or tympanoplasty can be performed about 2 months after dry ear.

For patients with ulcerative otitis media and unobstructed drainage, local medication is the main treatment, but regular follow-up should be noted. For patients with poor drainage or suspected complications and patients with cholesteatoma otitis media, modified radical mastoidectomy or radical mastoidectomy should be performed as soon as possible to completely remove the lesions and prevent complications.

The above is the medication treatment for otitis media. The medication for otitis media should also pay attention to some common causes. The main reason is that the symptoms of secretory otitis media are different, so the medication for the diagnosis and treatment of otitis media is different. We should also pay attention to these causes of the disease in our lives. If we find otitis media in our daily lives, we should go to the hospital for treatment in time.
