What causes heel pain?

When people reach middle age, many of them will have this feeling: their heels are prone to pain. So what causes heel pain? Cold, long-term labor, heel injuries, and obesity can all cause heel pain. It seriously affects the patient's movements. Some are afraid to walk because of the severe pain. For this disease, simply not walking cannot solve the problem. Correct treatment is necessary to achieve the possibility of recovery to normal.

What causes heel pain? There are many diseases that can cause heel pain, including periarthritis of the Achilles tendon, heel bursitis, heel spurs, plantar fasciitis, calcaneal disease, and talocervical arthritis. Below is an introduction to the causes of heel pain from the perspective of traditional Chinese medicine:

1. Qi stagnation and blood stasis type: Various reasons lead to slow local blood circulation, blood stasis, and blocked blood vessels, so that Qi and blood cannot flow smoothly and cause pain. The pain is localized, the pain is resistant to pressure, and walking is restricted.

2. Liver and kidney deficiency type: The liver, kidney and their branches run around the heel. The liver governs the tendons and stores blood, while the kidney governs the bones, stores essence, and produces marrow. In the elderly, the liver and kidneys are deficient, the essence and blood are deficient, and the meridians are not filled. As a result, the tendons are not nourished, the bones are not controlled, and the bones atrophy and the tendons relax. Therefore, there is soreness, dull pain, and fatigue in the heels when standing or walking. The pain is relieved by pressing and the pain is relieved by touching.

3. Cold stagnation and blood stasis type: Qi and blood run slowly, and are attacked by cold evil. Cold causes stagnation and contraction, which results in obstruction of meridians, stagnation of Qi and blood, and pain. The patient refuses to receive pressure, and likes heat and fears cold.

The above introduces the causes of heel pain from the perspective of traditional Chinese medicine. I hope it can be helpful to you. You can receive symptomatic treatment based on your condition. There are many treatment methods, including medication, massage, and acupuncture. When all these methods are ineffective, you should consider surgical treatment. But don't worry too much. With the rapid development of medical technology, heel pain is a disease that can be easily treated. Don't have too much psychological pressure, actively cooperating with treatment is the key.
