Is keratitis serious?

Keratitis is an eye disease caused by many factors. When the disease occurs, patients will feel like there is always something in their eyes, stinging or burning sensation, and are afraid of the irritating sunlight, often shed tears, cannot see things clearly, etc. Most keratitis is caused by external infection. Severe cases can even lead to ulcers or blindness, so everyone must pay attention to it.

Keratitis will cause itching during the illness, but you must not rub your eyes with your hands. Even if your hands are washed cleanly, there will be residual bacteria, which will increase the chance of eye infection many times. The rubbing process will easily irritate the affected area and aggravate the condition. You should also eat more light foods and avoid spicy and irritating foods. If you suffer from keratitis, you must seek medical attention in time and use medications strictly to avoid worsening of the condition.

Keratitis is a serious eye disease and one of the leading causes of blindness. After all, keratitis is a disease of the eye, so at a mild level it can affect vision, and at a severe level it can directly lead to blindness, so you must actively cooperate with the doctor for treatment.

If you have keratitis and ignore it, it will get worse. It is very likely to turn into fungal keratitis. Because the subjective symptoms of fungal keratitis are mild, patients often do not take it seriously and only seek medical attention when the symptoms become worse. At this time, there are often severe corneal ulcers or anterior chamber abscesses, and even corneal perforation, ocular inflammation, etc., which damage the entire eyeball and eventually lead to blindness. Keratitis is an inflammation caused by corneal trauma, bacteria and viruses invading the cornea. Its main harm is that it affects vision to a greater or lesser extent, especially when the inflammation invades the pupil area. Of course, the extent of vision damage depends entirely on the location of the scar. If it is located in the center of the cornea, even if the scar is small, it will have a great impact on vision.

Therefore, treatment should be received immediately in the early stages of the disease. Hot compresses can be applied to dilate the blood vessels in the eyes and relieve congestion. At the same time, it can promote blood flow, enhance resistance and nutrition, and enable the ulcer to recover quickly.

I believe everyone understands the severity of keratitis, so in life everyone must protect their eyes, do not use computers, mobile phones, etc. for too long, avoid excessive eye fatigue, and if there is a lot of dust in the air, try not to let dust enter your eyes to prevent infection.
