How to use dried wormwood

Mugwort is a very common plant in people's lives and it is also a traditional Chinese medicine. It has many benefits for people. For example, you can make mugwort tea for women with irregular menstruation to drink, which can regulate women's dysmenorrhea and irregular menstruation; you can make mugwort egg soup to warm the uterus of women with cold uterus; you can also put it in bath water for bathing, etc. Mugwort can also be dried and used. Here is how to use dried mugwort?

1. Drink mugwort tea for irregular menstruation

Many women have problems with irregular menstruation and cold hands and feet. Drinking mugwort tea can have a very good effect at this time.

In addition, if women experience edema before and after their menstrual period or after staying up late to work overtime, they can try drinking mugwort tea to reduce the swelling. The effect will be better if it is combined with ginger, brown sugar, and jujube.

Specific approach

Take 15 grams of fresh moxa leaves, wash them, add 5 slices of ginger, 5 dates, and an appropriate amount of brown sugar, decoct in water and take it for female dysmenorrhea.

Or take 15 grams of fresh mugwort leaves and 20 grams of white sugar, cook them together into a soup and drink it. It is suitable for women suffering from menstrual irritability, red and burning pain in urine, dry and bitter mouth, etc. You can also take about 3 grams of dried moxa leaves and brew it with boiling water as tea.

2. Drink mugwort and egg soup for uterine cold

"Compendium of Materia Medica" records: "Mugwort warms the middle, expels cold and removes dampness." For women with uterine cold or infertility, mugwort can warm the uterus and relieve pain. Mugwort and donkey-hide gelatin can also warm the uterus and stop bleeding.

Specific approach

Ingredients: 300 grams of mugwort leaves, 4 eggs, 30 grams of ginger, pepper, oil and salt as appropriate.

First, beat the eggs into a bowl and stir thoroughly. Chop the ginger, then add pepper, minced ginger, oil, and salt and mix well. Then add appropriate amount of oil into the pot, pour the mixed eggs into the pot and fry into an omelet. Then cut into small pieces, add boiling water and cook for 10 minutes. Finally, add mugwort leaves, cook for 3 to 5 minutes, and season.

3. Take a moxa bath for joint pain

Many women will experience joint pain after childbirth. In addition to changes in hormone levels, women's body shape also changes significantly during pregnancy. These changes will cause significant changes in the stress points of the spine and lower limb joints.

After childbirth, the body is "unburdened" and the stress points of the joints have to be readjusted. This kind of "tossing and turning" back and forth can easily cause weak mothers to suffer from joint pain. It is recommended to take an wormwood bath, which can effectively relieve joint pain.

Specific approach

Use 100 grams of fresh mugwort (or 50 grams of dried mugwort) and a few slices of ginger to boil half a bucket of water. Pour the water into a hot water tub at a suitable temperature and use it for bathing.

Mugwort has the functions of regulating qi and blood, warming meridians, expelling cold and dampness and relieving pain. Postpartum women are prone to wind, cold and dampness due to deficiency of qi and blood, so they should use mugwort to boil water for bathing.

4. Hot compress with mugwort leaves for women’s low back pain

When a woman has lower back pain, the first thing she thinks of is kidney deficiency, because “the waist is the home of the kidneys.” However, the kidney in traditional Chinese medicine is not the same as the kidney in Western medicine anatomy.

Traditional Chinese medicine believes that the kidney is a circulatory system that is directly or indirectly related to the human body's reproduction, growth and development, digestion, and endocrine metabolism. To relieve this kind of low back pain, you can use mugwort to regulate the body. It would be best if you can find fresh mugwort leaves. If not, you can also go to a regular Chinese medicine store to buy them.

Specific approach

If it is fresh mugwort, we can first fry it in a wok until it is dry. You can add a little sand when frying, which will make it easier to fry. After the mugwort leaves are fried dry, rub them into pieces with your hands and mix them with a little vinegar.

When using, heat the fried moxa leaves in the microwave, then put them in a cloth bag and apply them for thirty to forty minutes when you have lower back pain.
