Symptoms of Breast Disease

1. Nipple discharge

Colorless and transparent liquid discharge from the nipple is more common in menopausal women or patients with breast hyperplasia; milky white liquid is mostly non-pathological milk retention; yellow-green thick and purulent liquid is mostly breast duct ectasia combined with chronic inflammation; bloody liquid is more common in intraductal papilloma.

2. Breast mass

If multiple round, nodular lumps of varying sizes appear simultaneously or successively in both breasts without adhesion, it is mostly cystic breast hyperplasia; if the lumps are nodular, hard, adhered to the skin, and have unclear boundaries, it is mostly breast tuberculosis; if there is a single or 2-3 small lumps in the breast with clear boundaries, smooth surface, high mobility, no pain, and slow growth, it is mostly breast fibroadenoma.

3. Breast pain

The pain occurs during lactation, presenting as distending pain or throbbing pain, accompanied by redness, swelling, and heat. The affected area becomes hard, and nipple cracks appear early on. This is mostly mastitis. If one breast has intermittent diffuse dull pain, string pain, or localized dull pain, stabbing pain, and it is related to the menstrual cycle and mood changes, breast epithelial hyperplasia should be considered.
