Treatment of scabies

Treatment of scabies

Scabies is a common disease. It is mainly caused by some basic infectious skin diseases due to mites. It is easily spread in families or groups, mainly through underwear and towels. In daily life, it mainly manifests as blisters or papules. Severe patients will be accompanied by some skin lesions, mild itching of the skin and some other diseases.

Therefore, he must receive timely diagnosis and treatment with medication in his daily life, mainly careful treatment of several parts and some systemic treatment, but he must also take timely care of his diet in his life. Now he must avoid drinking alcohol and eating spicy and irritating foods.

The principle of local treatment is to kill insects, relieve itching, and deal with complications. Commonly used drugs are 10%-20% sulfur, 20% benzyl benzoate, etc., which can be made into ointments or emulsions, etc., and can be selected according to the situation. 1% 666 (hexachlorobenzene, GBH) solution can also be used. The medicine should be applied to the entire body from the neck down, paying special attention to the areas prone to infection such as the fingers, wrists, elbows, armpits, breasts, buttocks and vulva. Generally, an adult needs 30 to 60 g or 60 to 120 ml to apply to the trunk and limbs. After applying this medicine externally, keep it on for a certain period of time. This drug can be absorbed through the skin. If the concentration is too high or it stays on the skin for too long, it can easily cause neurotoxicity. Therefore, it is not suitable for infants and pregnant women.

Apply crotamiton (10% ethyl-o-butylene toluidine, Ulis) cold cream externally twice a day, leave it on for 48 hours and then wash it off. This drug has an antipruritic effect, but may also cause primary irritation and allergic allergies. It should not be used on acute inflammatory skin lesions and infants and young children.

5% to 10% thiabendazole emulsion, applied twice a day for 5 consecutive days, or 21-thiabendazole "25 mg/(?·d)" taken orally for 10 days as a course of treatment.

For those with severe itching, topical corticosteroid preparations can be used, or short-term (7 to 10 days) oral corticosteroid preparations such as prednisone can be taken. After the itching is relieved, the dosage can be gradually reduced. For scabies nodules and topical hormone ointments or hormones can be injected into the lesions.

Pesticide Derris root powder 30g, soap powder (or chopped soap) 30g, hot water 300ml, mix them together and apply externally, put on clothes after drying. Use once a day for 2 consecutive days for the best effect.

For scabies in infants and young children, 5% permethrin or 5% sulfur emulsion, sulfur anhydride bath or sulfur-containing mineral bath can be used, which are very effective.

Routine treatment for scabies: Take a bath and change clothes before treatment, and do not take a bath or change clothes while applying the medicine. When applying the medicine, you should first apply it to the prone areas and areas with concentrated damage once, and then apply it all over the body. Apply the medicine once in the morning and once in the evening every day. One course of treatment is 3 consecutive days. A second course of treatment can be done if necessary.

After treatment, the patient needs to be observed for 1 to 2 weeks (because it takes about 10 days for scabies eggs to turn into adults). If no new lesions occur, the patient is considered cured.

After each course of treatment, take a shower and change clothes first. The changed clothes, bedding, and sheets can be boiled in water or soaked in a fungicide solution (such as benzalkonium bromide) to completely kill scabies and their eggs. Cohabiting patients should be treated at the same time to eliminate the source of infection.

The above is the treatment of scabies. Don't eat pork, beef, or mutton. You must pay attention to a light diet and eat more vegetables. And you can take some heat-clearing and dampness-clearing medicines. So the care in daily life is mainly about personal hygiene. You must use cleaning agents to clean the sofa or if it is thick, you must isolate it and actively carry out treatment to improve and cut off the source of infection.
