Rabies vaccine

Rabies vaccine

In the summer, dogs will also be very irritable. People can control their irritability, but dogs cannot. They are most manic in the summer, which is also the peak season for rabies. Therefore, you must not be careless after being bitten by a dog and must get a rabies vaccine. There are many cases of death even after rabies vaccination, so avoid close contact with pets, especially children.

There are regulations on when to get the rabies vaccine. Let’s take a closer look at when is the best time to get the rabies vaccine.

The first thing to do is to get the rabies vaccine immediately after being bitten to play a preventive role. If it is a minor bite, that is, without bleeding, or if it is a scratch or broken skin is licked, the vaccine should be given on the same day. And it is not enough to just inject once, it usually takes about a week to inject. Then another injection should be given on the 30th day. Note that the dosage for children is the same.

Second, for more serious bites, in addition to injecting rabies vaccine according to the method mentioned above, the injection dose should be doubled on the first and third days after being bitten.

Anti-rabies serum should be injected one day before rabies vaccine. If the patient is an elderly person or a severely malnourished person and has started immunization 48 hours after being bitten, the injection dose should be increased during the first injection, preferably by two to three times. Moreover, injection at different sites has the most effective immune effect. In addition, although some of the injured are slightly injured, when the amount of invading virus is large, or when the injury affects nerve-rich areas, there may be cases where the incubation period is short and the vaccine alone is ineffective.

In fact, there are many things to pay attention to when injecting rabies vaccine. Generally speaking, it is enough to know these. The specific injection situation and the number of injections will be determined according to the actual situation at the time and the severity of the injury. Just be aware that after being bitten by an animal, you cannot underestimate the extent of the harm it can cause.
