What causes unstable blood pressure?

Many patients with hypertension will experience unstable blood pressure during the treatment of hypertension. Unstable blood pressure brings great psychological pressure to patients. Does this mean that their blood pressure is out of control? Do I still need to take medicine to control my blood pressure? In fact, unstable blood pressure is related to many factors, so we need to figure out what causes our unstable blood pressure.

Unstable blood pressure is related to the drugs we choose. It is also related to the dosage. In addition, if the interval between medications is not fixed, it will of course cause unstable blood pressure. Let’s take a look at the introduction below.

1. Inappropriate drug selection. Drugs for treating hypertension can be divided into six categories according to the principle of drug action: diuretics, beta-blockers, calcium channel blockers, angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors, angiotensin II receptor blockers, and alpha-receptor blockers. According to the duration of action, it can be divided into three types: short-acting, medium-acting and long-acting. The types of antihypertensive drugs chosen are different for different stages of hypertension, such as the early, middle and late stages, and for different individuals.

2. Insufficient dosage of medicine. Only a sufficient amount of medicine can have the effect of lowering blood pressure. A small amount of medicine cannot achieve the purpose of lowering blood pressure. Lowering blood pressure too low will cause insufficient blood supply to various tissues and organs. The most common symptoms are headache and dizziness.

3. Improper intervals between medications. Each drug stays in the body for a different amount of time. If the retention time is short, you need to take the drug more often every day; if the retention time is long, you need to take the drug more often every day. For example, since nicardipine has a short residence time in the body, it needs to be taken 2 to 3 times a day, while lotensin has a long residence time in the body, so it is sufficient to take it once a day.

4. Failure to take medication on time. This is a common cause of poor or unstable blood pressure control. These people often take medicine at random and only take it when they remember to do so. Their blood pressure fluctuates, which is very harmful to the body.

5. Emotional instability, anxiety, insomnia, and mental stress. Blood pressure is regulated by the central nervous system. The above symptoms are often accompanied by central nervous system dysfunction, which is bound to cause high blood pressure.

6. Insufficient blood supply to the brain. This is a problem that is often overlooked. Insufficient blood supply to the brain, lack of oxygen to brain cells, and metabolic disorders will affect the function of the brain, causing dysfunction of the autonomic nervous center, impaired vasodilation, and increased and unstable blood pressure.

7.Combined with other chronic diseases. Combined diseases such as coronary heart disease, nephritis, hyperthyroidism, etc. can cause changes in blood pressure.

In the above article, we introduced that many patients are afraid of the occurrence of unstable blood pressure, but they can't figure out what causes their unstable blood pressure. We have introduced in detail the seven major factors of unstable blood pressure in the above article. I believe that after reading the above article, you will understand the reasons for unstable blood pressure.
