Why do eyelids twitch?

Why do eyelids twitch?

In fact, as I said before, eyelid twitching is caused by excessive use of the eyes. Don't ever expect that eyelid twitching will really bring you a good omen, that is a very unreliable idea. Remember to always protect your eyes. Computers and mobile phones have strong radiation. When using them, you should take plenty of rest to relieve eye fatigue caused by excessive eye use.

The scientific name for eyelid twitching is "eyelid tremor." There are two causes. One is due to lack of rest and sleep, or due to anemia, excessive smoking and drinking; the other is due to eye diseases, such as myopia, hyperopia, astigmatism, conjunctivitis, keratitis... Eyelid twitching is something that everyone may encounter in life, and most people can disappear on their own in a short period of time. Therefore, when the eyelids just twitch, do not go for treatment immediately, but pay more attention to rest, relax the mind, and maintain a good attitude; at the same time, strengthen local hot compresses, and pay attention to observe whether the eyelid twitching is gradually decreasing or increasing, whether there is a tendency to expand downwards, and whether there is a linear pulling sensation from the eye area to the corners of the mouth.

In addition, look in the mirror, and feel to see if there is any obvious atrophy (depression). If your eyelids still twitch after a week, you should go to a professional medical institution for diagnosis and treatment. There is a popular saying among the people that "left eye twitching means wealth, right eye twitching means disaster", so eyelid twitching can cause many people to worry. But doctors don't think so, "eyelid twitching is actually a manifestation of increased nerve excitability.

But if it lasts for a long time, even both eyes may twitch, causing trouble to your life. It is understood that many people have eyelid twitching for several years. For example, some patients initially have a little twitching in the upper eyelid, which then slowly develops downwards, with the lower eyelid also starting to twitch, and even the corners of the mouth starting to twitch. When the twitching becomes severe, they feel nauseous and dizzy. These patients suffer from hemifacial spasm, either on the left, right, or bilaterally.

I remember there was a period of time in high school when my eyelids twitched for a week straight, and then the next week my college entrance exam went particularly well. So I still think that eyelid twitching is a sign, a sign of good or bad things happening. In fact, everyone knows that eyelid twitching is definitely caused by eye fatigue, but they will still find reasons to put themselves in a good mood.
