What to eat in late stage pancreatic cancer

What to eat in late stage pancreatic cancer

I heard that pancreatic cancer is a disease that many women are prone to, especially my favorite singer Yao Beina also died of pancreatic cancer. As a woman, I know very little about this, so I wanted to learn something: Can pancreatic cancer be regulated through food? If you have pancreatic cancer, what is the prognosis?

Diet and health care

Avoid greasy food and high animal fat food, such as fatty meat, lamb, meat floss, shellfish, peanuts, sesame, puff pastry, etc.

Avoid overeating and overeating, and control the intake of protein and sugar appropriately.

Avoid smoking, drinking, and sour, numbing, spicy and irritating foods, such as onions, garlic, ginger, peppers, and chili peppers.

Avoid moldy, fried, smoked, and pickled foods, such as salted fish, pickled vegetables, walnuts, peanuts, sunflower seeds, sesame seeds, fried foods, puff pastries, cream, ice cream, etc.

Avoid hard, sticky and indigestible foods, leeks, celery and other rough fiber foods, foods that irritate the intestines such as coarse grains, corn, glutinous rice, etc.

Prognosis

Pancreatic cancer is a highly malignant tumor with a very poor prognosis. Despite great efforts in the past 50 years, no significant progress has been made in improving the survival rate of pancreatic cancer. The survival time of pancreatic cancer patients who do not receive treatment is about 4 months, the survival time of patients who receive bypass surgery is about 7 months, and the survival time of patients after resection surgery is generally 16 months. The National Institutes of Health reports that the overall one-year survival rate for pancreatic cancer is 8%, the five-year survival rate is 3%, and the median survival time is only 2 to 3 months. Statistics from surgery in my country show that the 5-year survival rate is only about 5%. Early diagnosis and early treatment are the key to improving the prognosis of pancreatic cancer. Data show that if the tumor is completely cured in the early stage, the 5-year survival rate can be >20%. If the tumor is confined to the head of the pancreas (≤2 cm), total pancreatectomy or Whipple procedure can result in a 5-year survival rate of 15% to 20%. The use of adjuvant therapy such as radiotherapy and chemotherapy after surgery can improve the survival rate. For patients who receive surgery, adjuvant chemotherapy and radiotherapy, the 2-year survival rate can reach 40%.

The above is the knowledge you want to know. In fact, although the chance of developing pancreatic cancer is very high, it will not happen as long as you pay attention in advance. The main thing is to have a healthy lifestyle. Be sure to pay attention not to stay up late. Staying up late is not only bad for your health, it is also one of the causes of pancreatic cancer. A good life leads to a good body.
