Pharmacological effects of Acanthopanax rubra

Pharmacological effects of Acanthopanax rubra

There are many common medicines in life. When choosing some medicines, you must first understand the medicines so that you will know how to use them. Different medicines treat different diseases, so you cannot use medicines casually. Many people don’t understand Acanthopanax rubra bark. What are the pharmacological effects of Acanthopanax rubra bark? The following is a detailed introduction so that you can have some understanding.

Pharmacological effects of Acanthopanax rubra bark:

Effects on the cardiovascular system

The remaining water decoction of Acanthopanax rubra bark after alcohol treatment can increase the coronary flow of the isolated guinea pig heart; intravenous injection of 5ml/kg of 40% water decoction can prolong the latency period of arrhythmia caused by aconitine in rats, and can also immediately convert arrhythmia caused by barium chloride in rats into sinus rhythm, but the maintenance time is very short. Arrhythmias in the isolated hearts of guinea pigs and anesthetized cats caused by poisoning with the chloroform extract of the secretions of the parotid gland of the flower-backed toad can be converted to normal rhythm. In rats with early myocardial hypertrophy, the tail artery blood pressure increased, the left ventricular wall thickened, the proliferation capacity of thymus and spleen T cells decreased, the secretion of interleukin-2 (IL-2) also decreased significantly, and the activity of left ventricular myosin ATPase decreased. Acanthopanax rubra polysaccharide 10 mg/kg, subcutaneously injected daily for 14 days, can improve heart function to a certain extent, prevent blood pressure from rising and increase the activity of myocardial myosin ATPase, thereby providing more energy for myocardial contraction.

Effects on the central nervous system

After intraperitoneal injection of 5g/kg of Acanthopanax rubra cortex alcohol extract, mice were put into a state of quietness with significantly reduced spontaneous activity 15 minutes later. Oral administration of 15g/kg can significantly prolong the sleeping time of mice induced by sodium pentobarbital. Intraperitoneal injection of 5g-kg can significantly counteract the central nervous system excitatory effects of anabolic steroids in mice.

Intraperitoneal injection of 10g/kg and 17g/kg of Acanthopanax rubra alcohol extract has a significant analgesic effect on the pain reactions induced by hot plate method and chemical (acetic acid) stimulation in mice, and can reduce the normal and peptone-induced fever body temperature in rabbits, but has no effect on the fever caused by random vaccine.

After understanding the pharmacological effects of Acanthopanax rubra, when using Acanthopanax rubra, you must do so according to your own disease needs. It should also be noted that during the use of Acanthopanax rubra, if you feel uncomfortable, you need to stop using it to avoid more impact on yourself.
