How can I get enough sleep?

Sleep is of vital importance to each of us. Without sufficient sleep, it will have a serious impact on our mental state and work efficiency the next day. However, there are also people who, even if they get enough sleep, still feel very tired after waking up. So, how can we get enough sleep? For some knowledge about sleep, please see the introduction below.

Human sleep consists of four stages, lasting about an hour and a half in total, and this process should be repeated five times every night - only this kind of sleep is sufficient, and people will wake up naturally and contented.

Phase 1: 5-10 minutes

During this period, the human body begins to secrete anti-melanin hormone (sleep hormone), so people will fall asleep. Light can block the production of anti-melanin hormones and prevent people from falling asleep. Therefore, all light sources in the bedroom (TV, electrical appliances, etc.) should be turned off when sleeping. During the first stage of sleep our breathing and heartbeat gradually slow down and our muscles gradually relax. Muscle spasms may occur at this time - this is our brain checking that our breathing and pulse are normal. People can be easily awakened during this stage.

Phase 2: 20-30 minutes

In the second stage of sleep, the body's temperature drops and the metabolic process in the body gradually slows down. Therefore, in order to ensure a comfortable sleep, the room must maintain a suitable temperature, the optimal temperature is 18-22℃.

Phase 3: 20 minutes

At the end of stage 3, the body's tissues begin to prepare to wake up, cortisol hormone is produced, and blood pressure rises, making a heart attack or stroke a possibility. People with high blood pressure must drink a glass of water and take medicine before going to bed to prevent accidents during the third stage of sleep.

Phase 4

In the fourth stage, people enter deep sleep. If their eyeballs keep moving, they are dreaming. Stage 4 is the REM sleep stage, which is also considered the best stage of the entire sleep process. If you are woken up during this period, you will feel that you have slept well and comfortably. There are now special alarm clocks for sale that can wake people up during the fourth stage of sleep. It is best to get up immediately after waking up. People who prefer to stay in bed for 5-10 minutes and slowly fall back asleep will wake up feeling tired and exhausted.

Other suggestions

To stay healthy, you should drink at least two liters of water every day, including at least three cups of hot water. The human body needs water throughout the day and must drink water every hour, except when eating. The first glass of water of the day should be drunk on an empty stomach in the morning. This can replenish the water consumed by the body overnight, increase intestinal motility, and expel toxins accumulated in the body overnight. The last glass of water of the day should be drunk one to one and a half hours before going to bed - this can reduce the risk of cerebral thrombosis.

How can I get enough sleep? All four stages of people's sleep are very important. Be sure to turn off all electrical appliances in the home when going to bed. For friends with high blood pressure, don't forget to drink water and take medicine before going to bed. Also, when you wake up, it is best to get up as soon as possible and not stay in bed, otherwise your mind will fall into a state of fatigue again. It is also best to develop a regular schedule and go to bed early and get up early.
