This means that pregnant women should not receive acupuncture at these health-preserving acupoints. Not only that, but also they should avoid these health-preserving acupoints during massage, namely Hegu, Sanyinjiao, Quepen and Kunlun, to avoid problems such as miscarriage and cessation of fetal development. In addition, there are some acupoints that pregnant women should not massage.

Hegu Point

Hegu is located at the base of the palm on the back of the hand, in the depression between the first and second metacarpal bones. It is mainly used to treat toothache, wrist and arm pain, facial paralysis, cold and fever, etc. Use with caution in pregnant women.

Standard location: On the dorsum of the hand, between the 1st and 2nd metacarpal bones, at the midpoint of the radial side of the 2nd metacarpal bone.

Method of acupuncture: Spread the thumb and index finger, and place the horizontal line of the thumb joint of the other hand on the base of the thumb, which should be the midpoint of the line connecting the base of the thumb and the junction of the 1st and 2nd metacarpal bones; close the thumb and index finger, and locate the acupuncture point at the highest point of the muscle.

Function: calms the nerves and relieves pain, promotes blood circulation, clears away heat and relieves exterior symptoms.

Sanyinjiao acupoint

Sanyinjiao point is one of the ten general points. The so-called "Gynecological Sanyinjiao", as the name suggests, is very effective in treating gynecological diseases, including irregular menstruation, leucorrhea, menorrhagia, oligomenorrhea, premenstrual syndrome, menopausal syndrome, etc.; and this point is the intersection of the Taiyin spleen meridian of the foot, the Shaoyin kidney meridian of the foot, and the Jueyin liver meridian of the foot, so it is widely used. In addition to strengthening the spleen and blood, it can also regulate the liver and nourish the kidneys. It also has a calming effect and can help with sleep.

Method of finding the acupoint: 3 inches directly above the tip of the inner ankle, about 4 finger widths, there is a bone to be pressed, which is the tibia. This point is located in the depression near the edge of the bone at the posterior edge of the tibia.

Meridian: The Spleen Meridian of Foot-Taiyang, which is the meeting point of the Taiyin, Jueyin and Shaoyin meridians of Foot. After being hit, the lower limbs become numb and dysfunctional, and the Dantian Qi is damaged.

Indications: Weak spleen and stomach, indigestion, abdominal distension and intestinal rumbling, diarrhea, irregular menstruation, metrorrhagia, leucorrhea, amenorrhea, uterine prolapse, dystocia, postpartum blood loss, lochia retention, spermatorrhea, impotence, pain in the middle of the penis, edema, difficulty urinating, enuresis, pain in the knees and feet, athlete's foot, insomnia, eczema, urticaria, neurodermatitis, hypertension, etc.

Quepen Point

Quepen point. Que means broken and scattered. Basin is a container for holding things. The name of Quepen acupoint means that the water in the ground meridian of this acupoint is broken and distributed to various parts of the human body. The material of this point is the earth meridian water that overflows from the Qishe point and the heavenly qi that disperses outward. After reaching this point, the earth meridian water overflows and disperses in all directions, like water overflowing from a broken basin, hence the name Quepen point.

Acupoint location: Quepen point is located in the center of the supraclavicular fossa of the human body, 4 inches away from the anterior midline. At the midpoint of the supraclavicular fossa, there are the platysma muscle and the omohyoid muscle; above is the transverse cervical artery; the middle branch of the supraclavicular nerve is distributed, and the deep layer is just above the clavicle of the shoulder plexus.

Main diseases treated: cough, asthma, sore throat, pain in the supraclavicular point, scrofula.

Kunlun Cave

Kunlun. Kunlun is vast and boundless. The name Kunlun means that the moisture in the bladder meridian absorbs heat and moves upward here. The substance of this point is the vaporized water from the bladder meridian, which is cold and damp in nature. Due to the outward-dispersing heat of the Shaoyang Meridians of Foot and the Yangming Meridians of Foot, the cold and damp water vapor absorbs heat and ascends to fill the sky. Qi and blood exist at every level in the point, like a vast and boundless place, hence the name Kunlun. The name and meaning of Shang Kunlun are the same as Kunlun.

Acupoint location: Foot-Taiyang Bladder Meridian point. On the back of the lateral malleolus, in the depression between the tip of the lateral malleolus and the Achilles tendon. Acupoints on the Bladder Meridian of Foot-Taiyang.

Function: Dissipate heat and transform gas.

Treatment method: For cold and dampness, use pricking to bleed, or drain first and then replenish, or replenish and then apply moxibustion. For wind and heat, use draining needle to release air or water needle.

Jianjing Point

Shoulder refers to the acupoint on the shoulder. Well is a pore in the ground. The name of the Jianjing point means that the water of the gallbladder meridian flows into the earthly part of the earth from here. The substance of this point is the ground meridian water that descends from the upper part of the gallbladder meridian. After reaching this point, the meridian water flows into the ground part of the ground through the ground pores of this point, so it is named Jianjing point.

Location: At the midpoint of the line connecting the Dazhui point and the acromion, the highest point of the shoulder.

Meridian: The Foot Shaoyang Gallbladder Meridian, which is the meeting point of the Hand Shaoyang, Foot Shaoyang, Foot Yangming and Yangwei Meridians. After being hit, half of the body became numb.
