Taking a bath like this will slowly destroy your health

Bathing can be said to be a daily cleaning task that everyone must do, which helps to maintain good health. However, there are also some rules for bathing. If you bathe incorrectly, it will affect your health. Have you ever made any of the following bathing misunderstandings?

Taking a bath like this will make you lose your health

Take a shower as soon as you wake up

Taking a bath after getting up in the morning can stimulate the brain and keep you energetic throughout the day. However, if you take a shower before eating breakfast, it can easily cause dizziness or even hypoglycemia shock. If the water temperature is too high, it will cause blood vessels to dilate, leading to insufficient blood supply to the brain and collapse. Therefore, it is best to take a shower half an hour after breakfast.

Take a bath after a meal

Just after eating, a lot of blood accumulates in the stomach. If you take a shower at this time, it will cause blood vessels throughout the body to dilate, increasing blood flow to the skin and muscles, which will in turn affect digestion. In addition, you should not take a shower after drinking, otherwise it will cause a drop in blood pressure, general weakness, dizziness, and even lead to heart disease or cerebral stroke. Therefore, it is recommended to take a bath 1-2 hours after a meal.

Using too much shower gel

Shower gels often contain lauramidopropyl betaine, which stimulates certain chemicals to penetrate the skin quickly. If you use shower gel excessively for a long time, these chemicals will be absorbed excessively by the body, combine with calcium and iron, and remain in the subcutaneous tissue, causing dryness, allergic dermatitis, etc. Therefore, it is recommended to choose a shower gel that has no fragrance and simple functions, and a one-yuan coin-sized amount is enough each time. If your body is not dirty, just use clean water. After washing, try to apply moisturizing lotion all over your body.

Soaking in hot water for a long time while bathing

The water temperature in the bathtub is higher than body temperature. Soaking in the water will increase your heart rate and increase the workload on your heart. At the same time, as the amount of blood pumped by the heart increases, the body's blood pressure will also rise, making it easy to cause a heart attack. Therefore, middle-aged and elderly people, especially those with high blood pressure and heart disease, should not soak in hot water for a long time.

Take a shower and go to bed

Sleep often comes after the body temperature drops. A hot bath will raise the body temperature and promote the release of "sleep hormone" in the brain. If you must take a bath before going to bed, you can apply a cold wet towel to your forehead for 5 minutes after bathing to return your body temperature to normal levels so that you can fall asleep as soon as possible. Therefore, it is recommended to take a bath 2 hours before going to bed.

Washing for a long time to clean

If you take a bath for a long time, you will feel weak all over, and fatigue is related to the lactic acid concentration in the blood. According to research, after strenuous exercise, taking a shower for 5 minutes will result in basically no change in the lactic acid concentration in the blood. However, after washing for 10 minutes, the lactic acid concentration will decrease by 7 to 8 mg; if you wash for 30 to 60 minutes, the lactic acid concentration will basically return to the pre-fatigue level. For office workers or those who do light labor, a 15-minute shower can return the lactic acid concentration in the body to normal levels. Otherwise, it will consume physical strength and cause fatigue over time.

Taking too many showers

If you take a bath with hot water and soap too frequently, the sebum on the skin surface will be reduced and the slight acidity on the skin will disappear, which is conducive to the growth and invasion of bacteria into the human body. It is also prone to skin itching in middle-aged and elderly people. Therefore, the frequency of bathing should be appropriate and not too much.

Scrubbing your skin vigorously while bathing

Excessive rubbing while bathing will damage the skin's protective layer and reduce the skin's resistance, because there is a layer of keratinized cells on the surface of the skin, commonly known as "dead skin", which is only 0.1 mm thick. It is weakly acidic and can block pathogens and harmful rays, serving as a natural line of defense for the human body. The replacement rate of this layer of dead skin is slow, taking at least a dozen days at the fastest, while the inner side of the upper arm takes more than a hundred days. Rubbing hard while bathing will destroy this line of defense, making it easy for skin infection to occur, causing folliculitis, boils, and even sepsis. Therefore, you should not rub your skin hard when taking a bath, and you should not rub your skin with a dry towel or loofah.
