If you lie down immediately after eating a full meal, gastrointestinal motility will slow down, which can easily lead to food accumulation; if food residues are not excreted from the body, stool retention will occur. As winter approaches, the incidence of bad breath, getting angry, and sores among the population increases, which is actually closely related to lying down soon after a full meal. Generally speaking, it is more appropriate to have dinner around 6pm. Compared to lunch, dinner should be slightly smaller. At night, the body is less active and requires less nutrition. If you eat too much at dinner, on the one hand, your stomach will be full and affect your sleep, and on the other hand, it is easy to have overnutrition, causing obesity, and even inducing diseases such as increased cholesterol, arteriosclerosis, and diabetes. Carbohydrates can produce more serotonin in the human body, which has a calming effect and is especially beneficial for people with insomnia. However, the reality is that since most families have plenty of time to prepare dinner and eat a large meal, this is not good for health. According to American research, eating a lot of high-protein foods such as meat, eggs, and milk at dinner will increase the amount of calcium in the urine. On the one hand, it reduces the body's calcium storage and induces rickets in children, myopia in teenagers, and osteoporosis in middle-aged and elderly people. On the other hand, the high calcium concentration in the urine greatly increases the possibility of developing urinary stones. In addition, if too much protein is consumed, the body cannot absorb it and it will be retained in the intestines, where it will deteriorate and produce toxic substances such as ammonia, indole, and hydrogen sulfide, which will irritate the intestinal wall and pose a hidden danger to cancer. If you have difficulty defecating, it is recommended to get up early every day, drink a glass of water on an empty stomach, and develop the habit of defecating early in the morning. If you don't have a bowel movement at this time, you can massage the Tianshu point (located 1.5 inches away from both sides of the navel). After massaging for a while, you will feel the urge to defecate. If constipation is severe, eat more foods rich in crude fiber, such as oatmeal, whole wheat bread, etc. In addition, honey, bananas, apples, potatoes, etc. can relieve constipation. You can steam the potatoes until soft and then mash them into a paste, then eat them together with locust flower honey or vitex honey.
