What are the common symptoms of cervical fibroids?

Uterine fibroids are a common gynecological disease. There are no obvious discomfort symptoms in the early stages of the disease, so it is generally not noticeable. So what are the symptoms of uterine fibroids?

1. Increased menstrual flow and prolonged menstrual period. As uterine fibroids grow, the area of the endometrium increases and the uterine cavity expands, affecting the contraction and hemostasis of the uterus. In addition, the tumor can compress the veins near the tumor, causing congestion and dilation of the veins, thereby prolonging the menstrual period, increasing the menstrual flow, and making the submucosal fibroids more obvious. If the submucosal fibroids become necrotic and infected, irregular vaginal bleeding or bloody purulent discharge may occur. Long-term excessive menstrual flow and prolonged menstrual period can lead to anemia, fatigue, palpitations and other symptoms.

2. Lower abdominal mass: When uterine fibroids are relatively small, there may be no symptoms. However, as the uterine fibroids continue to grow, a hard mass can be felt in the abdomen. It is more obvious when lying flat in the early morning. Huge submucosal fibroids can prolapse outside the cervix or even outside the vagina. Many patients seek medical treatment because of vaginal prolapse.

3. Increased leucorrhea. Intramural fibroids enlarge the uterine cavity and increase endometrial secretions, and accompanied by pelvic congestion, leucorrhea will naturally increase. If the submucosal uterine fibroids are infected, a large amount of pus-like leucorrhea will appear. If the fibroids are ulcerated, necrotic or even bleeding, pus-like or bloody, foul-smelling leucorrhea may be discharged from the body.

4. Compression symptoms: Fibroids on the anterior wall of the uterus may compress the bladder, causing patients to experience symptoms such as frequent urination and urgency; Fibroids in the cervix can cause difficulty urinating and urinary retention; Fibroids on the posterior wall of the uterus may cause lower abdominal distension and discomfort, constipation, etc.

5. Other common symptoms include mild lower abdominal distension, back pain, etc. The symptoms will worsen during menstruation and may cause infertility or miscarriage. When the fibroids become red and degenerate, acute lower abdominal pain will occur, accompanied by vomiting, fever, and local tenderness of the tumor.
