Are there really worms in tooth decay? How to treat it?

Tooth decay is the most common problem in people's oral cavity. Generally speaking, when people have tooth decay, they will also want to know the cause of tooth decay. So, is tooth decay really caused by worms?

Are there really worms in tooth decay?

Tooth decay is the common name for dental caries, which is generally caused by the long-term interaction between teeth and food. Because the mouth has not been cleaned properly for a long time, a large number of bacteria will accumulate on the surface of the teeth. With the help of sugar in the food, the bacteria will produce a large amount of acid. Over time, the acid destroys the teeth and causes caries, and tooth decay is formed. So, tooth decay does not really involve worms.

Common treatments for tooth decay:

1. Filling

Filling is a treatment method that uses dental surgery to remove carious tissue, prepare the hole into a specified shape, and fill the hole with artificial materials while protecting the pulp to restore the shape and function of the tooth. This is also a commonly used treatment method for tooth decay.

2. Tooth extraction

Experts point out that when teeth are decayed and have no value to be retained, and are often inflamed and painful, seriously affecting normal life, this is the worst case of tooth decay, and the diseased teeth need to be extracted. If the teeth have a greater impact on chewing, they need to be replaced with new dentures after extraction. This is also a treatment for tooth decay.

3. Dentures

Experts point out that when the tooth crown is severely decayed and the pulp is exposed and cannot be restored, root canal treatment and dentures should be considered. There are two types of dentures: removable or fixed. If it is no longer possible to replace a fixed tooth on the original tooth, you will have to sacrifice the good teeth next to it as a fixed bridge.

4. Root canal treatment

First, drill a hole at the top of the decayed tooth, then extract the decayed dead pulp through a medical root canal, then disinfect and sterilize the root canal, and finally fill it with root canal filling material. Restore decayed teeth to their normal shape and basic functions. It also avoids further erosion by external bacteria.
