Effects of Acupuncture on Neiguan

1. Expand the chest and regulate qi

Lowering adverse effects: Neiguan is a collateral point of the pericardium meridian that runs off the triple burner meridian. It also merges with the Chong meridian in the stomach, heart, and chest, connecting the Yin Wei meridian and governing the yin collaterals of the whole body. Therefore, acupuncture of this point can dredge the qi and blood of the triple burner. It can relieve chest tightness and chest pain caused by qi stagnation in the upper burner. It can harmonize the stomach and lower adverse effects. It can treat stomach pain, flank pain, nausea, acid reflux, and heartburn caused by qi imbalance in the middle burner. It can regulate qi and activate blood circulation. It can treat abdominal pain, diarrhea, and irregular menstruation caused by qi and blood imbalance in the lower burner.

It can dredge the meridians externally, and is mainly used to treat numbness and pain in the elbows and arms caused by stagnation of the meridians. In clinical application, for example, in the treatment of true heart pain and syncope heart pain caused by evil invading the pericardium, it is often used together with Tanzhong, Shenmen, Juque, Zusanli and Gongsun to achieve the effects of relieving chest tightness, regulating qi, unblocking meridians and relieving pain. 1. Used to treat cough and asthma caused by phlegm and turbidity blocking the Qi.

It is often used in combination with Zhigou, Fenglong, Feishu and Dazhui to relieve chest tightness, regulate qi, eliminate phlegm and relieve asthma. It is used to treat stomachache, vomiting, hiccups, and acid reflux caused by dysfunction of the middle-jiao spleen and stomach, and disharmony between the liver and stomach. It is combined with Zhongwan, Zusanli, Gongsun, and Taichong to harmonize the stomach and reduce reflux. For those with liver qi invading the stomach, add acupuncture at Qimen, Yanglingquan, and Taichong to soothe the liver and regulate qi, harmonize the stomach and relieve adverse reactions; for those with cold evil invading the stomach, add moxibustion at Qihai, Zhongwan, Zhiyang, and Zusanli to warm the stomach and dispel cold, harmonize the stomach and relieve pain.

For those with food stagnation in the middle burner, add puncture to the upper, middle and lower Sanwan points, Tianshu, Qihai and Zusanli to digest food, remove stagnation, clear the bowels and reduce turbidity. For those with epidemic filth, add Quze and Weizhong points, puncture the collaterals, let blood and cupping to resolve turbidity, detoxify, regulate qi and harmonize the stomach. For the treatment of numbness, cramps and pain in the elbows and arms, it is often used in combination with Chize, Quchi, Shousanli, Waiguan, Hegu and Lieque acupoints to regulate Qi and blood and dredge the meridians.

3. Soothe the mind and relieve pain:

The pericardium acts on behalf of the heart, and the heart's joy and happiness are often expressed by the pericardium. Nei Guan is a collateral point of the pericardium meridian, connected with the Yin Wei meridian, and associated with the five internal organs. When various exogenous evils or other visceral diseases invade the heart, Nei Guan acts as the pericardium's servant through its communication function. Acupuncture can expel evils and calm the mind and nerves. It is mainly used to treat evils invading the pericardium, phlegm-heat disturbing the mind, and mental disorder, restlessness, restlessness, stroke, madness and insomnia. If used to treat palpitations, it is often combined with Daling, Xinshu and Shenmen to calm the mind and relieve palpitations.

Before using acupuncture to treat a disease, you must first find out what the disease is. Then find the corresponding acupuncture points for treatment. This will achieve better treatment results. Even if it is the same disease, the treatment methods will be different because the causes of the disease are different. Treatment must be carried out in accordance with these treatment principles.
