What causes facial paralysis? Different types have different causes

(1) Idiopathic facial paralysis

(2) Traumatic facial paralysis

(3) Tumor-induced facial paralysis

Tumors that can induce facial paralysis mainly include: basilar artery aneurysm, skull base tumor, acoustic neuroma, parotid gland tumor and jugular bulb tumor.

(4) Neurogenic facial paralysis

The number of such patients is not large. Cerebrovascular disease, intracranial and non-traumatic neurogenic sources are the main causes of this type of facial paralysis. Therefore, patients with cerebrovascular diseases must pay attention to the treatment of their own diseases to avoid inducing facial paralysis.
