What can I eat to cure pneumothorax quickly? How to care for pneumothorax?

Due to various reasons in life, pneumothorax has become more and more common in life, but people know very little about its pathological symptoms. So what is pneumothorax and what is the best food for pneumothorax?

What is pneumothorax?

Spontaneous pneumothorax refers to a condition in which alveoli rupture in normal people or patients with existing lung diseases, allowing gas to enter the pleural cavity and cause gas accumulation. Suggestions: The disease mainly occurs during strenuous physical activities such as lifting heavy objects, and is mainly manifested by sudden chest pain on the affected side, which is like a needle or knife cut and lasts for a short time, followed by chest tightness and difficulty breathing, which may be accompanied by an irritating cough.

Nursing knowledge.

1. Rest and activity: Patients with unstable pneumothorax should rest in bed and avoid excessive movement. A semi-recumbent position is beneficial for breathing, coughing, expectoration and chest drainage, so patients with stable blood pressure should adopt a semi-recumbent position. If there is a chest drainage tube, care should be taken to prevent the tube from twisting and falling off when the patient turns over.

2. Dietary guidance: Develop good eating habits and eat more crude fiber foods, such as vegetables, fruits, etc. Avoid constipation. If you have not had a bowel movement for 2 days, you should take effective measures to keep your bowels open and prevent chest pain or wound pain caused by straining during defecation.

3. Guide patients to follow the doctor's advice to actively treat the primary disease and fully understand the importance and significance of pneumothorax. Keep your emotions stable and pay attention to the combination of work and rest. Within one month after recovery from pneumothorax, avoid strenuous exercise such as running, playing ball, and cycling; avoid lifting heavy objects; avoid holding your breath and other excessive exertion that increases intrathoracic pressure; develop good eating habits, do not be picky about food, and eat more crude fiber foods. Keep bowel movements smooth and avoid constipation. Quit smoking. If you feel chest tightness, sudden chest pain or shortness of breath, it indicates the possibility of recurrence of pneumothorax and you should seek medical attention immediately.
