Facial paralysis is a common disease characterized by motor dysfunction of the facial expression muscles, and the general symptom is facial paralysis. So what are the early symptoms of facial paralysis? Initial symptoms One of the early symptoms of facial nerve disease is blinking. Careful observation of the patient's blinking can reveal asymmetric blinking movements on both sides, which is also an early symptom of facial nerve disease. This phenomenon is of great significance. If the patient is asked to blink, the blinking movement will be slow and incomplete on the mildly paralyzed side. Eyelid tremor is also an early symptom of facial nerve disease: close both eyes forcefully, and the examiner will pull the closed upper eyelids hard. At this time, a slight muscle contracture tremor may be felt on one side of the upper eyelid, but not on the other side. The presence of this facial nerve symptom indicates mild facial nerve paralysis, which is more common in peripheral facial nerve paralysis. The initial symptoms of facial nerve infection also include eyelash sign: ask the patient to close his eyes forcefully. When a normal person closes his eyes forcefully, the eyelashes are mostly buried in the upper and lower eyelids. When the facial nerve is paralyzed, the eyelashes are exposed, especially in the case of mild paralysis. When you close your eyes forcefully, the asymmetry of the eyelashes is not obvious at first, but after a short period of time, the eyelashes on the mildly paralyzed side will slowly appear, which is called a positive eyelash sign. In short, your facial muscles cannot move at all and are in a relaxed state. You can eat and talk without any consciousness and can only rely on natural reactions. Then you slowly lose feeling below your face, your eyes become hollow, your limbs become weak, and your hands and feet become numb. Gradually, you become completely unable to move and can only sit under the old locust tree in front of the door, look up at the sky, and think about life. Oh, of course you may not even be able to think about your life, because by then your brain may not work, and only your cerebellum may be working. Symptoms after onset It consists of two parts. One part is the residual symptoms caused by the failure of complete activation of the paralyzed nerves on the affected side and the failure of complete recovery of their functions. The other part is caused by damaging treatments, such as acupuncture. Specific manifestations: no eyebrow lifting movement or low eyebrow lifting, big or small eyes or loose upper eyelids, corners of the mouth rising when raising eyebrows, corners of the mouth being pulled when closing eyes, small eyes when puffing out the mouth, shallow nasolabial groove, facial stiffness, food stagnation, tearing, etc. Because damaging treatments destroy the body's tissue cells, adhesions will form when the body is trying to restore the damaged tissues, causing linkage and large-scale atrophy or hyperplasia. |
