What are the general nursing measures for cerebral infarction rehabilitation?

Brain cells die due to ischemia and hypoxia when blood vessels are blocked. The later the treatment starts, the larger the blocked blood vessel, the more brain cells will die, and brain cells cannot regenerate after death. So what are the rehabilitation care measures for cerebral infarction?

1. Use medicine scientifically to prevent recurrence

Cerebral infarction is a chronic cerebrovascular accident disease with a high recurrence rate. After being discharged from the hospital, patients with cerebral infarction still need to take medication as prescribed by the doctor, control underlying diseases of arteriosclerosis such as hypertension, hyperlipidemia, and diabetes, and go to the hospital for regular check-ups. Effective drugs commonly used in clinical treatment of cerebral infarction are suitable for the treatment, rehabilitation and health care of sequelae of stroke. Their functions are to invigorate qi and nourish the kidney, promote blood circulation and remove blood stasis, and extinguish wind and dredge the meridians. It has a good effect on improving symptoms such as hemiplegia, crooked mouth and tongue, inability to speak, numbness of hands and feet, dizziness, tinnitus, and weakness of waist and knees caused by stroke.

Patients who have the conditions can take health supplements to increase the body's resistance and help improve the condition, but health supplements have no therapeutic effect and should never replace regular drug treatment. There are also patients who need regular infusion to prevent and treat cerebral infarction, especially those in the north. The disadvantages of infusion have been described in detail in other chapters. It is only suitable for acute treatment and will not be elaborated here. Some patients are superstitious about advertised drugs, but often the efficacy of advertised drugs is far from what is promised, and incidents of exposure due to false propaganda are not uncommon. If the wrong drugs are chosen, not only money is lost, but also the best time for recovery. Therefore, if you want to truly effectively treat the disease and reduce the recurrence of cerebral infarction, you should still make scientific drug selections after comparing many aspects and choose first-line drugs that are effective in clinical applications.

2. Daily life training

After becoming ill, many previous living habits are disrupted. In addition to training the affected limb as early and formally as possible, attention should also be paid to developing the potential of the healthy limb. Patients with cerebral infarction who have right-side hemiplegia and are used to using their right hand should train their left hand to do things. Clothes should be made loose and soft, and special styles can be sewn according to special needs, such as installing a zipper on the sleeve of the affected limb to measure blood pressure. When dressing, put on the paralyzed side first and then the healthy side; when undressing, take off the healthy side first and then the affected side.

3. Start rehabilitation treatment early and actively

As mentioned earlier, cerebral infarction will leave many sequelae, such as hemiplegia, aphasia, dizziness and headache. Most patients can take care of themselves through active and scientific comprehensive rehabilitation treatment, and some can even return to work. For rehabilitation treatment of cerebral infarction, you can buy some relevant books and videotapes or find them online and do them at home. Patients who have the conditions can also undergo rehabilitation exercises in local rehabilitation hospitals. Rehabilitation should start early. The best time for recovery is within six months after the illness. After half a year, recovery will be more difficult due to muscle atrophy and joint contracture, but it will also be of some help.

4. Effectively adjust your emotions

As the saying goes, "Illness comes like a mountain falling, and goes away like a thread being pulled." This statement is more appropriate for patients with cerebrovascular diseases. Faced with the facts, we should adjust our emotions and actively engage in comprehensive rehabilitation in order to return to society as soon as possible. Patients with severe mood disorders and cerebral infarction can seek help from a doctor and use antidepressants, such as Prozac, which have a good effect on depression and anxiety after cerebrovascular disease.
